let's say your have 10 months to go on your installment of RM200 per month.... you can always open a cheque of RM2000.00 and leave the balance to deduct the installment for the next 10 months, right ?

this is ain't paying everything..just parking the money in the credit card, right?

Can we have an update on the 1st post as to which banks/card issuers will absorb the RM50/RM25 service charge, and which banks/card issuers won't absorb.
*

What is so special about this card?
*
It's the only Maybank's Free-For-Life Platinum Card at this point in time, right ?
MBB TreatPoints are evergreen (i.e. does not expire)

Yesterday I called them up to do points redemption and inquire on card termination process.

1st call, took more than 5 mins before I speak to a human being.
2nd call, was on hold for so long till the call ended on its own.
3rd call, more than 2 mins before speaking to a human.
* Mind you this was the Platinum Priority Hotline number.

Even without the service tax issue I will cancel this card coz I don't tolerate bad customer service. Imagine you had to call them from overseas ? The long wait will burn a hole in your pocket due to call charges alone.
*
I would have selected Lost/Stolen Card option to get a human being immediately.
Lost/Stolen card human being is the same human for the other normal CS enquiries

My father received postcard from Maybank, stated that he can get a free Nokia 6212 phone.. just call them back, and you will be eligible for the free phone.. anyone got this too? This is the link about the free phone:

http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p.../PRO-Promotions
*
Your dad must be one of the 700 selected users who owns a MBB Visa PayWave + Maxis Post-Paid Subscriber.
I'm also waiting if the postcard drops into my mailbox blink.gif

From the FAQ.......
Q4: What are the program mechanics?
• The first 700 selected participants (by invitations ONLY) who are both existing Maybank
VISA payWave cardholders and Maxis subscribers will receive a Nokia 6212 mobile
phone with VISA payWave features for FREE!
• Participants must make a total of five (5) transactions on their Maybank Mobile VISA
payWave card.
• The five (5) transactions must be made successful during the program period or there
will be an administrative fee of RM100 applicable.

that is also my bank advice. But that does not solve the root of this problem.
*
Root cause is Visa/MasterCard/AMEX + banks which wants to profit from the merchants. How you going to solve that ?

Aiyo... go get the free phone... just spend 5 times. That's it...
You are lucky to be in the 700 people in Malaysia to be selected.

Not true.... M2U team and CC team is different and request to remove CC from M2U may take many moons to complete.

Today I called Citibank and uncover a stupid trick they used with Citibank Shell card. If you aint using it for Shell, they wont honour the rebate you accumulated through retail purchases. Damn...
*
That's why I hate Citibank.... uncover this dirty trick and cancelled it after utilising the rebate. You just need to pump Shell once and clear all the rebate.

Another trcik is the rebate will only be credit into your CC if total rebate collected is above RM30.

Agree that Citibank favors Shell... but the T&C doesn't mention such "dirty" trick.

last week i brought my wife to terminate 5 cards in 4 banks... very tiring sweat.gif

Citibank is the most difficult bank...they will persuade you to the maximum before proceed with your card cancellation
*
For me cancelling the Giant-Citibank was the most hassle-free (that's the advantage I see in Citibank), a phone call to them and they will call me back to confirm. When they persuade you just learn to say NO. Simple.

I would gladly settle in full if my bank allow me to. But when they put a RM100 early settlement fee on it, there is no point in settling early anymore lol
*
Totally agree with you.
I don't understand the reason for them to not let you pay early... banks thought they can charge you late interest if you forget to pay the installments.
