Hi, I'm wondering if anyone holding CIMB Direct Access cards can help me on this.

I'm thinking of applying for a CIMB Direct access Mastercard (the one that is for Professionals, not for Graduates). But I have a question: Is it still true that DA cards cannot be used for internet purchases? (Or has that changed since the SBB days?)

According to their website, DA lists "Virtual MasterCard" under the "Benefits" for the cc for for Graduates, but it doesn't list it under the ones for Professionals.

And yet, I notice there's a link for Secure e-Pay on the CIMB Direct Access website. So I'm very confused. Do we register the "Virtual MasterCard" with Secure e-Pay or what? If it's already "virtual", why the need to register?
*
DA Virtual Mastercard had been discontinued.
We can now use the DA Visa / Mastercard for Internet purchases via websites with Verfied by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode

Now I get what you meant. smile.gif You were talking about Tier 1 of the cash back while I was actually referring to the general cash back policy of Citibank. biggrin.gif

Nevertheless, Citibank should seriously review its cash back policy. The requirement of "carried forward balance" would simply drive consumers away! tongue.gif
*
Cash back should be given on the same month it's spend on... That's why I cancelled their Shell-citibank card

if you done the linking of your card to your gsc login id, u should see the bonus value immediately, however if your gsc card is an additional card from eon bank, meaning u got other eon bank card already , u not eligible for the bonus
*
Why don;t get BV if you own another EON card ?
I'm gonna call their CS and complain... they gave me a wrong card in the first place...MATTA card first then after I complain, they gave me the GSC card.

Balance Trasnfer to another CC is to reduce the interest charged.
Eg. you owe RM10k on Card A with you pay 18% p.a.
If you choose the right Balance Transfer to Card B, you maybe charge a lower interest (eg. 9% p.a.)

Why go cancel it ???? Just wait for the banks to absorb the RM50 service fee.

RM50 is a lot less than a customer's worth.

Will paying rm50 per card make us prudent spenders ?
Those with 0% installment cannot pay up earlier (within 3 months) because banks will charge ?%

Added on October 26, 2009, 10:56 pmRM50 x 11 millions = RM550 million in additional govt funds... let's hope they have better build better LRT stations.

I'm wondering how they will charge the RM50 CC tax. And also what will happen if someone choose not to pay it, like those never pay their traffic fines...
*
Then you pay 18% p.a. interest on the RM50 service fee. which makes more people in debt

Govt introduce CC service charge from 1997 to 2001 before.... so we wait for it to abolish in 2013 then.

Credit card service tax may be absorbed

Banks likely to come up with a scheme for users

PETALING JAYA: Banks are likely to absorb the RM50 service tax on credit cards, considering that they already provide cardholders with rebates worth more than this.

To control prudent spending on Credit Card :-
0. Push the responsibility to the banks
1. Increase annual income eligibility and age for applying for credit card.
2. Decrease the credit limit to equivalent of monthly salary.
3. Abolish the ease of applying credit card if you are a principal card holder >2 years.
4. Do not hire annoying CC Sales executive at shopping malls/petrol station/...
5. Give better rebates for holders who pay in full every month.

You can only spend RM1000 a month to get the maximum 15% rebate (capped at RM150)

RM4,000,000 / RM150 / 4 months = 6,667 AMEX cardmembers will benefit if each uses for 4 months.

Great to buy items ~RM1,000. Time to plan for Sony Alpha Accessories...

This RM50 service fee gives banks to "compete" for better promotions to entice cardmembers... that's the plus point I see from PM's prudent idea.

You can view it at maybank2u. However, the MR points will be shown as Treats Points, even though they are MR points in reality.

I think the Amex Gold Credit Card is treated as TreatPoints under M2U system, right ?
Where to see the catalogue for Membership Rewards redemption ?

The points is shown as "TP" in M2U but it's actually MR.

For MR catalogue, just pay a visit to AMEX website.
*
So when I redeem my TreatPoints i cannot use the points listed for the AMEX Gold CC, right ?

last week i faxed my cancellation letter to Maybank, until now still not yet been cancelled. the card still showing in my M2U.

It will take many months to get those entries removed.
When I did not accept their pre-approved cards, it took lots of month for it to dissapear under M2U.

Just CUT my Giant Citibank card... let's see which card to cut next.

Citibank's number always give a round around.
Tip: Always select the Lost Card section so that you can talk to a real person in a flash.
