I think is really depend on people. If we want to keep our card we could not avoid this service tax and the only thing we can do is to minimize the number of cards. maybe for some people better to cancel all cards and use debit card rather than paying RM 50 for even for 1 credit card. if debit card has more benefit why not. This will leave only 1 benefit to the CC which is the interest free period of 20 days .

depending on your credit card spending, keep 1 credit card is better than using debit card despite the rm50 service tax. the benefit that you can gain from credit card outweight debit card, provided you spend a lot on credit card

ya, MBB card is good, with the on the spot redemption, the point is more worth its value

Not sure if this will really work as many foreign carriers have been doing this for years. Heck even full service carriers such as Qantas Airways and British Airways are also charging their passengers for using credit card to pay for tickets online 

yesterday, went to CIMB Pandan Indah, i saw a bunch of credit card with cancellation form. The officer told me, one day is about 10-15 application for termination. Just imagine, I just went to one not so crowded branch, how about the other branch especially the popular one? Plus cancel by fax some more....

Shouldn't be able to. When you cancel your credit card, it means the account is closed. If you have direct debit tied to your insurance policy with your credit card and you have canceled the said credit card, the system will automatically reject the payment and you will receive a letter from your insurance company in a few weeks (assume if you did not provide them another credit card that is active).

i have experienced on this.. i charged my insurance on my mbb visa cc monthly.. one day, my wallet is stolen and i report to mbb to cancel the card, and make a new one.. a few weeks later, the insurance company sent me a mail to request for a payment because my cc a re no longer chargeable.. so i just provide them with my new cc, then only they can charge me again..

this kind of things dun need to ask. How can you make a transaction to a credit card which doesn't exist? Its like I'm paying for my dinner with a CIMB card...but I do not have a CIMB card. So do you think the cashier will say "thank you, please come again" or will she call the cops?

from CC to MBB? What's that? if from MBB card to another MBB card can la. Its automatic when u cancel a card...just remind them in case they forget to transfer the points

trust me, can shift the points as long as its within the same bank. Can't say about other banks though...but MBB does.
