I'm curious if owning a CC from international bank is necessary?
Currently I only own CCs from local banks only.

Hi all, just got my DA statement today and it comes with DA application form. I can see in the form there state income requirements for gold card is 24k p.a.

Guess CIMB has lowered down the income requirements of this card?

Hi all, may I know isit possible to view MBB Amex Gold CC statement thru M2U without having to "agree" to the TnC? What I mean is when I go into My Statement, it ask me to click accept or reject. But I not sure by clicking accept, my other CC statement will turn to online statement. Any other way to view Amex Gold CC statement?

Maybe you can use debit card for your paypal?

Digi autobilling has a RM5 cashback per line, including supplementary lines (if separately maintained from the principal) smile.gif

Yeah, 1 year can save RM60... then use RM50 to pay the service tax... guess can only focus on 1 card...

Any other payment facilities that gives us rebate if pay by CC? so far i could only think of Digi bill payment...

Next on my list will probably be my Amex Gold credit card. I actually like this one very much esp for petrol, but it's no use paying RM50 for it cos not many stores accepts it.
*
Yeah, for me if Digi auto billing can accept Amex, I'll surely keep my Amex gold. But now really tough decision. I really like Amex gold too. But not much merchant accept it.

I'm wondering how they will charge the RM50 CC tax. And also what will happen if someone choose not to pay it, like those never pay their traffic fines...

Speaking of charge card. It doesn't make any sense why would they also want to impose a service tax on charge card. I mean they did say the reason they are going to tax our credit/charge cards is to encourage prudent spending as well as so we will not run into financial ruin, correct ? Most charge cards holders are those who pay in full and promptly every month. So why would they want to tax charge card too ?  rclxub.gif  Whoever involved in proposing this idea must be delusional.
*
Yeah, I have a feeling if we all moved from credit/charge card to debit card, G will find way yo tax debit card too...

I there's still no better way to overcome this RM50 tax, I hope banks will focus on debit card and allow debit card to have about the same benefits as credit/charge card. Like 5x points for petrol and groceries...

If we cant change the environment, we should change ourselves...

Then you pay 18% p.a. interest on the RM50 service fee. which makes more people in debt
*
I think as rakyat, we can do sometime to stop this. Perhaps a mass petition to stop this? Or we can mass cancel all of our credit cards and kill our credit card industry?
I believe if we make it serious enough, bank or G might re-consider... unless they don't really care, then what we can do is move to debit card...

A massive cancellation will certainly trigger the alarm and the Malaysian banking association will start to do something to save the huge credit card industry in Malaysia.

There certainly is a chance for BN to revert this ruling. I mean given their track record in decision making, this is certainly possible  laugh.gif
Keeping only one credit card is not exactly wise as you always need to have a backup card. What if you suddenly need to pay for a RM20000 goods and you only find out there is something wrong with your only credit card's chip and you do not have enough cash ? What if there is no ATM or bank nearby ? The government is really making our life tough as if it is already not tough enough  mad.gif
*
lol, maybe can organise a mass CC cancellation activity to get media attention...

well we can use credit/debit card combination? but if this policy really gets implemented, i rather cancel all my CCs than let G earn my money, I don't even know where my money will be going to...

potong or cancel our cards directly means "we would rather cancel our cards than paying m'sia government unnecessary tax"...

after this, maybe they'll introduce more nonsense policy...

such as..

to promote prudent time management, each unit television in a household will be charge rm50/unit/year..there u go...we'll have TV tax !!..to discourage wasting time to watch tv....haha....its not impossible u know....since tv tax been abolished in the 90's....it might come out again under 1Malaysia boss....maybe even more complecated...such as each astro subscriber must pay rm50 per account per your as tv tax...

haih..why la government add burden to rakyat....

Then I have no reason to keep DA anymore...
unless DA is free for like and bank will pay the rm50 for us, then I might consider to keep.

Haha its limited to total of RM4,000,000. And we would not know when the limit will be reached. Bank can tell us any time the limit is reached and they do not need to pay us the rebate...

I plan to keep Amex Gold CC as my main card since its my rebate card.
However I'm having difficulty on my other 2 cards. Should I keep either 1 or cancel both?

1. MBB Petronas:
- Why keep: evergreen points, no shipping charges when redeem gifts, %0 interest installment at many merchants
- Why cancel: no benefit for me

2. DA Master:
- Why keep: 2% petrol rebate (not sure how long will this last)
- Why cancel: points only valid 3 years, shipping charges for gift redemption

Also since insurance do not accept Amex, I not sure if I should move to either card above or pay by cash monthly. Or can I pay insurance premium via debit card?

Anyway just curious for DA, if I cancel the card now and want apply it again in future, do I still need to provide them my degree cert? Can I cancel DA Visa only?

Thanks.
