Wat is the safe temp for this processor? Here is temp for my proc at 3.8GHz 1.344vcore full load.

Hardware monitor
-----------------------------------------------------

Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6800 hardware monitor

Temperature sensor 0 71°C (159°F) [0x1D] (Core #0)
Temperature sensor 1 71°C (159°F) [0x1D] (Core #1)
Temperature sensor 3 65°C (148°F) [0x23] (Core #3)
Temperature sensor 2 66°C (150°F) [0x22] (Core #2)

Is it ok?

Advice needed. tq

ts, is that onload temp or idle??

even with megashadow, on load should surpass 70C barrier easily. unless on WC setup or in aircond room~ whistling.gif

100% load and 75C at 3.8GHz overclocked should be OK... Even a Core 2 Duo overclocked would reach those temperatures on full load. Are you using Prime95, Orthos, etc? hmm.gif

QX6800 is old 65nm Processor...that time all 65nm Quad COre PRocessor no OC with Intel stock cooler already 60C (Q6600) . If Put 3rd market cooler idle is 47C - 54C

now u OC QX6800 to 3.8Ghz with 100% load...75C? is too far normal to me

yeah, my e8500 oso reach 75c full load at 1.3v. but the prob is core 2 duo thermal spec is 74.1c. this 1 is 64.5c. so a bit worried. i'm using prime for stability test.

Shouldn't be worrying that much, should be fine... nod.gif Even with games, its hard to get the CPU load up to 100% all the time. wink.gif
