Operating System: Windows 7 Professional
PC Specification: Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz, 2GB DDR2 RAM, GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256bit
NO anti-virus software

Methods that I have tried:
- Reinstall the game.
- Reformat the PC.
- Reinstall the operating system.
- Check through the firewall, allowed the PunkBuster program running at all time.
- Confirm the setting as "Automatic" in Services for the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB.
- Use pbsetup.exe to update the PunkBuster to the latest version.
- Use the pbsvc.exe to uninstall the service, and reinstall the service.
- Test the service, the log display successfully without error.
- Reboot the PC

BUT

Problem that I am currently experience:
- After use the pbsvc.exe, PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB both appear in the task manager Services tab.
- After that I didn't close the task manager, I straight go into the Multiplater without joining a server.
- A while later, the PnkBstrB gone or lost in the task manager Services tab. Even join a server with PunkBuster, it happen the same.
- Did all the steps above for more than 3 to 4 times, none of them successful.

I spent for about more than 5 hours in doing all these things, none of them work nor successful.

I am going crazy soon, any help please?

Thanks!

What "reason"? unsure.gif

I don't think restart router will solve the problem. It's all about the Windows Services issue, it automatically turn off from Services after I get into the game. So that Narakka server detect that my computer got no PnkBstrB.exe running so the system kick me out from the server.

restarting the router usually fix my "CD key in use" error because my router keep holding on my COD4 access to master server.....in your case, i think windows 7+punkbuster is the problem......try google for "windows 7 punkbuster call of duty 4 error"

Even though my CD key is "ahem", I never got this "CD Key in used" problem. Tried to change CD Key, not working too.

I did this step too, but failed.

Anyway, thank you for your concern. Went to my friend house today, he figure out that my drive D and drive E both contains worms and viruses. Many of my game execution file got affected by virus, even pbsetup.exe and iw3mp.exe also considered as virus in my Anti-Vir anti virus software. After deleted them and reinstall the game, the game works perfectly without any problem like kicking out from the server.
