I'm afraid not. The replaceable gc is only in the m17x edition since they have specific slot for the gpu

Added on December 5, 2009, 9:11 pm
Hoho nice...and very cost efficient as well and recyclable too i might add.
*
so m15x doesnt hav a specific slot sad.gif? swt...

and apparently there might be a problem with m15x being throttled by the insufficient power supply similar to the XPS studio 16.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=439546

Hopefully Dell will get it fixed soon XD.

Not going to check it out to confirm? Any issues whilst gaming and connected via power adapter?
*
According to the spec given, m15x uses approximately 170~180 W but the give adapter is only 150W. hmm.gif

However, I hope a new bios will help solving the problem wink.gif

well, will it be ok if we used m17x adapters?
*
Well Dell has taken notice of this problem and trying to resolve it right now, m17x adapter is 250W or 200W?
People at notebook review has tried a 210W adapter but it doesnt seem to solve the problem, therefore its highly likely that a well tweaked bios would solve the problem.

Well worst come to worst, the labelled power requirements were wrong and a 250W adapter is needed XD.

This problem has occured before for XPS studio 16, Dell has replaced the adapters and the problem was fixed.

No issues when its running on a power adapter. Cheers.

Try having your comp full load, then you will see the decrease in performance.

And how you do it?? hmm.gif
*
P95 ( Proc ) + Furmark ( GC ) test
monitor the clock freq using GPU-Z & T-monitor

Results :

And apparently under full load while lowering the brightness helps in increasing the performance. hmm.gif insufficient power/ bad bios settings seems to be source of throttling issue right now.

However, none of the games out there will really push your system up to full load unless you do hardcore CAD.

Playing with AlienFX now, blue and red lighting seems to be the best colors out of all, the rest seems ugly.

to all sifus here, for core i7 right, do you actually have to turn on the turbo boost feature at the BIOS? or does the system do it automatically when required?
