i dont think either one is going to be significantly louder than your x-230.
if you have to choose between the two, I'd go for the Edifier.

you didnt mention that your current set is broken / faulty...
if this is the case then the M3300 would be a good replacement. just dont expect day and night difference... |

4121 would be a lot of bass, but not as much clarity and head room overall...if you crank it up to max there will be a lot of distortion...
anyway at lower volume you can still tune it a bit so its not the end of the world... |
