hello all the sifu, does anyone encountered D90 kit lens (18-105mm) unable to focus sometime? Dunno why it just unable to focus and shoot sometime, does anybody know why ? thanks

guys...i got rm 2000 budget to buy new lens..but i dont know which lens im suppose to buy..right now in my mind either tamron 17-50 2.8 vc or nikkor afs vr 70-300....btw im gonna use the new lens for my bro wedding..right now i got nikon d90 kit lens and 50mm 1.8 so what u guys opinion..do please recommend me..

i do wedding 90% of my photography, and yes wedding does need tele 

eiks... i din really notice any diff with VF off/on... 

AF-S noise and the VR noise is different. AF-S is much louder than the VR noise.

VR noise only kick in when you do half press on the shutter, just put your ears close to the lens and listen after your lens has already focused.

yes the example is using lightroom to make the 2 (higher and lower exposed) versions of the original photo. then use photoi4gotwhatsthename software to merge

the best way to do HDR is to shoot 3 photos from the camera... 1 in good exposure, one more slightly lower (maybe -1) and another one slightly higher (+1..can experiment lah). this way u get 'authentic' exposures instead of the artificial ones from lightroom. download these 3 onto ur computer (duh )

in photoshop, go to file > automate > merge to HDR. at the "Use" dropdown menu, pick Files. then browse and select the 3 photos juz now. click OK n wallah!

D90 owner,
try to shoot RAW and JPEG and did u notice that RAW picture is much much much sharper~! try to shoot same thing, using tripod with same setting.

using photomatix also can with the 3 bracketing picture
photoshop i dont know

D90 owners can try this,

Shoot Jpeg + RAW.

Then convert the RAW to Jpeg using CaptureNX/ViewNX. You'll notice differences .

probably it wont look as good as if u snapped it at the correct exposure, but the amount of detail retained is a lot more compared to jpeg. very much more dynamic range retained. = more chances of a spoiled shot to be saved.
