well it is too early if we are to join a league this season. We will just be whipping boys like Eric said. 6 months maybe if we have consistent friendly.

From yesterday game it is obvious only a handful of outfield player could play league.. even it is a social league.. you need a 25 players to enter such league.

FIELD REPORT (haha "field"... As in field... Get in? Ok nvm)

I was at the Panasonic Sports Complex earlier.

They have two fields there. The main Padang A was absolutely horrible, much worse than UM. But it doesn't really matter coz they are going to close this pitch for maintenance on 2/3 Jan.

The smaller Padang B was in much better condition. However, there are pros and cons: -

Pros
1. Pitch is not muddy
2. RM50 only for morning session (1.5 hours) and night is RM200.
3. Can use shower
4. Swimming pool cost RM2 if want to go for post-match rendam
5. Near my office and house

Cons
1. Pitch is not even (not good for people with dodgy knees)
2. Size is only about 1/4 longer than GIS pitch. (If we were playing MyRawk, this would be a super duper "con" because it will be harder to trap Khai offside)
3. Low fencing on one side of the pitch. If Kang is in the mood for his air shots, we may have to do a lot of climbing and fetching, which is time wasting.

But anyways, I booked the pitch for Jan 2 2010. No deposit was required and payment only on date of the match. We can cancel/postpone any time.

So what do you guys think?

Not that I'm playing but Padang B is TINY. You could barely play 7 a side on that pitch. If you want a pitch, I know a ref who operates in Kpg Pandan/Sg besi/etc who can get you pitches. But make sure you ask him for a good pitch. Lyn b****es complain too much about field conditions.

No idea lah dude. Just throwing up ideas in the air. I'm sure most of the other existing teams will want to keep it going somehow, someway.

I really don't see how LYN can't put up a consistent team. At least everybody knows each other and play futsal together almost every week. MyRAWK started from zero! We didn't even know our own players' names in the first few games. As long as you've 25 players registered, the bigger problem is trying to cope with everyone rather than attendance.

Plus, from the few games that we've had, LYN wouldn't be whipping boys. Just keep the offside trap running!

About the training & possibility of getting thrashed.. well i don;t think we suck thaaat bad (Rmbr the recent futsal tourney?). We've got pretty decent players.. plus we play together every week (futsal that is).. so its just a matter of getting the team to gel. If ur talking abt fitness.. then thats a whole new issue there. I've played in similar competitions before & its not like ur up against top athletes week in week out.

Agree with you guys on the futsal part.

Most trainings conducted by the top teams place emphasis on 5 vs 5, while the Brazilians all honed their skills playing on the streets. That's why I don't see anything wrong with our short passing game.

Where we need improvement is actually on through passes (and making runs), crossing and switching play.

Fitness is also another issue, as Faesal brought up. That is something that we have to work on individually I suppose. (P/s: The wife making noise about my weight. I vow to improve on this in 2010).

Finally, I just want to say that I do know my limitations as a big field player, but I hope I can make contributions in other areas... Such as report writing... booking field... getting you free Milo (Seriously. I have some samples. Will pass to you all soon. Make your mothers happy.)

let me guess. you "bribed" the linesmen with free milo, didn't you?

yes, do not underestimate the lyn backliners mad.gif

yes, we are world renowned "back" players flex.gif

honestly, the so called offside trap... i believe we've no intention to chase after the ball should the trap failed. there were few occasions when we stayed rooted at our positions and praying for the whistle to go off. howard blasted us... "don't wait for the whistle". yeah right... we are not energizer bunnies.

yes.. naz... you ought to shed at least 20 kilos. then you'd be an important asset to LYN FC. for the time being, wait for the xmas present from ben or was it james

Naz,
You can forget about the Padang B unless you're just in for a extended futsal session in grass while wearing boots. However, i do think its good for practice short passing and ball control, maybe 7 a side game or training. Other than that, forget about it for full fledge football game. Since you already booked it, just let it be. If not enough players, just play 7 a side and practice on ball control and short passing.

On the other hand, you should consider MPSJ stadium. RM500 for 2 hours but this field is super hard to book. And maybe they're close for field repair. And never ever play like shite here coz ALOT of people watches you play due to the morning walks and etc.

Another field is the 3K sports complex near A&W. Very good pitch and i heard its used by the Brazillian football academy. Also not easy to book.

But someone has to try to walk in to enquire. For MPSJ and 3K field, you just need to walk in to MPSJ office to enquire. Naz or James lives nearby, should be no problem for either one of them.

If we go ahead with the Padang B idea then no need friendly also can. Consider it a glorified futsal session amongst ourselves.
