I won't buy it when they first hit Malaysia market, I will wait till year end then only buy. Atleast it will be cheaper.
And I second to smokey's statements. Just to add abit, it will get scratched easily.

Not worth to try it out now as their price still high. Unless you can buy from SIngapore which is slightly cheaper. Someone is selling for rm4300. But if you can nego till rm4000 that's good.

I wonder P90 vs P99 which1 is more high-end? Function seems to be the same..

Technically, both of them got pros and cons
P90, using PCM1704 as DAC, same as what you can find on F#1(but using K grade) and using Toshiba DSP
P99, using AKM DAC and Analog Device's Sharc DSP(If I'm not wrong), which can be seen on ODR.
Want compressed formats, P99 is good but if still listening to ori CDS, P90 will be great.
I'm using P9 combo with CD-UB100 for compressed formats, so far so good.

get a 2nd hand HX D2 and mod it kao kao la, sure can get fantastic result. i've heard 1 b4, really sound different than original D2. but i dunno wat he modded inside, i suppose it's the DAC, caps and modified DC/DC convertor. the sound is at least on par with ODR D7 combo.

question might be a lil bit flawed... the supposed question is which one suits me best?

anyway... i believe/expecting that surpressing the IC from the size of an amp(P90 processor) to the size of an HU which includes the motor and the everything would have significant difference on the SQ in which P99 would sound lower par than P90...

but thats just an expectations over 2 shots of JackDaniels' monogram...

and personal preference, still like F#1 over ODR and D2... for the DVD playback... even more flexible on tuning if i am not wrong than all the rest...

F#1 9990 + H990 cost a bomb, bro... even the old 7990 + H900 oso damn exp. ODR cheaper a bit, hehe. dun really like P90's sound, sounds quite lifeless to me. listening to instrumental tracks will be great, but vocal is a bit let down. P99 according to a sifu, he said P99 is just a compact P90 but sounds 'simpler' altho tuning capabilities is very gud. meaning the current price is not worth the SQ u get in his opinion. i myself neva heard the P99 b4 la.

well... at the cheaper price, it cost you a lil bit of the SQ... sure you wan that? XD

and yea... do think that a P90 setup is a bit of set back to me as well...

for the price of P90... i think D2 is still the best bet... dun ask me why... you know the answer... haha...
