by australian standard, the exora would be considered very underpowered.......

and the 1.6l forte/cerato would also be considered the same.......there is only 1 version of the cerato in oz.......2l........

you wouldn't find the 1.5/1.6l latio/tiida or the 2l camry/accord there either......

car prices are so distorted in msia, we are really numbed.......

i think all should realise the cerato 2l cost aud 25k in oz...........

but admittedly, due to nazarisation, this is a car where we need to pay the least tax amongst international c-segment cars...........

QUOTE(Logankrishnan @ Dec 6 2009, 09:29 PM)

I was there on last Friday wanna test drive, but too bad all the SX cars were not there ( they had 2 of them) 1 for test drive which was taken to KL showroom branch unsure.gif  & the other was a showroom car which was taken for the TV3 sure heboh @ Bukit Jalil..er..something like that la..)  so i only managed to drive the EX version. It was good for me though coz SX should be 50% better off on the road right?.....  rolleyes.gif
*
actually, the sx perform worse on the road, mainly because of the 17 inch wheels........the broader wheels results in more road friction and hence less power.........and the low profile tyres are hard and bumpy, and road noise is significantly more then the ex.........

i know as i tested both......

unfortunately, there is no 2l to test..........and that's the one i am interested in.......

i was toying with the idea of changing the 17" rims to 16" higher profile tyres for a more comfortable ride.........

yes....... that slot is useless basically tongue.gif its like putting it nearer for car easier to start smile.gif

but still ok la at least it does shows the low batt indicator when it runs low on batt hehe
*
the slot is NOT useless........it works on the principle of inductive powering of the rfid chip in the remote, so that it can then transmit the unique code to start the engine........just like the 'ticket card' of the spore mrt.......

sorry for troubling,

but seriously, i will like to look for advice here xD

1. what do you guys feel about the quality of the built material?
2. fuel consumption? guys?
*
1. interior finish is mostly hard plastics, same with all cars at this price range.......fitting is okay.......durability, we will only know with time..........

2. while there is an electronic fc meter giving instant and average fc, it is not very accurate generally......and the official figures also is in test drive conditions.........so you will only know your actual fc after you have driven in you style and traffic condition for a while..........the car weights 1.3 tonne, so would be about the same as equivalent cars eg altis, civic........

Anyone can confidently answer this:

The waiting time stated by NAZA is 90-120 days. If we book now and NAZA increased the forte price after 2 months, will we eventually have to pay the new hiked price if our car arrived after 3-4 months?

If we will, i need to start pestering my SA every day for early delivery. IF not affected, I don't mind waiting even until march coz still got old car.

Added on December 11, 2009, 5:22 pmMazda 2010 1.6 and 2.0 both increased by RM 2K just 2 months after launch by bermaz due to unprecedented response...
*
if you have a confirmed booking with their s&p order, the price should be fixed.......if there is a price increase, they will have to fix a deadline for the increase.......prospectively, not retrospective........

this happened with the avanza, response was so good, they found their then current year quota was exceded, and they have to then use the next year's quota, and they announced a cut-off date, guaranteeing bookings before the deadline at old price.........

Thnx bro for the quick reply. Booked with local dealer coz no NAZA branch in town. Got a piece of simple receipt only. No computer key-in thingy. Hopefully I'm considered officially booking with NAZA ... will check with dealer again next week.

I own the previous vios model .. plan to sell it to bro in-law. Vios is a good car. .. but I feel buying the new vios or city is side-stepping. Getting Forte on the other-hand felt like up-grading .. from B to C segment .. from half specs to full ...  but still side-stepping on price. it's too good to be true.

Just my 2cents ....

Added on December 11, 2009, 6:54 pmAnd it's a global car .. unlike vios/city
*
not sure how dealers operate, but branches will have an official booking s&p document, detailing the various prices, and an official booking number, and the official receipt contains this number, which is why the issuance may be delayed pending allocation, which seems centrally controlled........i suspect the branches operates the same way.........

my SA gave me a list of all three version of Forte...
what caught my eye to answer this question is about a fine print saying "Prices and specification are published without prejudice and subject to change without notice"
*
that is standard disclaimer found in all advertised price lists.........but you booking performa is different and a valid legal contract.........

that disclaimer is meant to protect the company from people using an old price list, and demanding to buy at that price........

i know people don't like to read this kind of info........and almost everybody thinks it is good value for money, which it is in the msian context......but it is good to have things in perspective.......

the top of the range 2l forte sells for equivalent rm55k in korea, and the 2.4l +5speed auto version for rm70k in canada.........

this is what i am told......

2l cbu will be available in jan.......but they refuse to say which part.......

there will be allocations of cbu's throughout the country, and if you book now, they can assign one, if the branch/dealer still have their cbu quota.........and i have been assigned one........

2l cbu available in jan is good news... i'm still waiting.... do u mean if book now.. they will assigned one (for 2.0? or just 1.6 which available stock?)
it depends on your branch/dealer........they have allocations from naza........so if there are 2l units allocated to the branch/dealer not assigned, they will then assign one to you........or even if they have no allocation, or no free units left, they can check with naza and can still get one for you........

like most manufacturers with popular cars with waiting lists, inventory and assignment to buyers are done centrally........

those are the IRR stats.
UVR if i'n not mistaken, both are 99%.
VLT i forgot liao.. doh.gif
*
heat is transmitted via irr, so that is the important figure.......

uvr is easily blocked, even normal glass will block >90%.......

the trick is how to block irr (and hence heat) while allowing enough visible light through.....and that's where the pigment technology come in, and why v-kool cost 2k+...........

so, with the IRR i posted on both Aircool & Tintmaster,
which would you recommend as a better package?
*
normally, the irr figures should be the same for all glass surfaces, so i am not sure why there are different figures.......

there is little to choose between the 2, if the figures are to be believed.....many cheaper films do not block more than 70-80 % irr while letting 50% of light through.......if they can achieve 90%, that is considered very good.......already v-kool standard.........

Dude..Forte is the future!
Don't miss out!
Bad reputation is a thing of the past!
while there is no disputing this is a well made car with very good features, it would be foolhardy to think there can be no problems in future, both in the car and the service from naza...........

buy with full expectation that there can be problems, and you will face less heartaches in future......

Hi guys/gals,

Really happy to see some of you got your car dy, supposed to get it this week, but it has delayed to next week sad.gif I went to the sales branch yesterday and i was told the following which i would like to check with you guys/gals:

1. I have to pay RM150 runner fees to get the car inspected cos of AP reasons. Did you guys pay or ask to pay this runner fees? If none paid or is asked to pay for this fee, I will not pay this additional fees cos it should be included in the OTR price and will call up the careline tmr to report this.

2. My SA told me that my allocated unit is at Sri Hatamas (is there a warehouse/place to keep new units?) and my SA needs to go there and drive down all the way to Penang for me. I told him to send using trailer but he gave me excuses and said impossible. Is this a normal practice? or am I getting a showroom unit or worse a test drive unit? Anyone been to the Sri Hatamas branch, it there a showroom or test drive unit in Titanium Silver colour (1.6 SX)?
*
1. that is (or should not be) your problem.........surely, after making so much from the ap, they can foot whatever small change for getting the ap paperwork done.........

2. that also is NOT your problem.........transportation from the main depot/factory to retail branches/dealers is not your problem........it however affects you because allocation is made centrally, and it is likely your branch/dealer has ran out of allocated stock, and is now sourcing your car from another outlet's allocation, in this case, in kl..........they should have car transporters for this purpose like usual, but maybe it's because you want your car fast, and the saleman offer to drive it up directly for you........
