i have test drove both ex and sx, and i have commented about this earlier......

there was no funny noise in my test drive......

but the sx with the 17"tyres was rougher and bumpier, with significant road tyre noise intruding into the cabin, but sound proofing in the engine compartment makes the engine much more quieter.....that may contribute to the impression of more road noise.........

i presume most people here have not driven low profile big wheeled cars before, it is normal to have rougher and noisier ride compared to thicker rubber of smaller rimmed wheels......in return for better road holding and better looks........

Initially it was surprising that Naza seems to "lower" the segment of the Forte in Malaysian markets, but now it makes absolute sense. People who are able to afford Civics will probably still scoff at Korean makes without even thinking, so there's no point for Naza to aim for the C-segment market. What they did was to offer it at a cheaper price so that people who are considering B segments would realise that the Forte is a much better choice, which would eventually alter the mindset of worshipping H&T.

that is not entirely true........i am looking for a c-segment 1.8 or 2l car for a while to replace my 14 yo perdana (yes, perdana is c-segment), and have considered altis, civic, focus, and latio.......and yes i can afford the 130k if the 2l civic was actually suitable.......but it is too low for me.........

i was waiting for the cruze to come in........but with chev falling out with hicom, it looks like it will be a while yet.......

it would appear that this 2l forte exactly fits my needs........except there is no car to test drive.......

i hope when they 'ckd' the car, they will remove the heating part of the aircon........in cold weather, if you set the temp too high (eg 26), you can get hot air coming from the aircon.......which is a nuisance.....sometimes you just want the air to circulate without the cooling.........

But i have one  hmm.gif  : the front door(passenger side) can open from inside the car with just pull the handle, eventhough i already lock all the doors using central lock(with smart key in the car). I have tried it and also it is written in manual. But i wonder the door still able to open if the car is moving. I yet to test it. If yes, then i might have a issue : my wife is always carry my little daughter sitting at the front and my daughter may tangan gatal just open the door... Have someone try this?

can i implore you to persuade your wife to sit at the back with your child?....if you value her life........ shakehead.gif

alternatively, get a good child seat, secure it to the back seat (not suitable for front due to airbags) and strap her in securely........

trust me, be firm, and the child will learn the car is NOT a playtoy.........all our 3 children used a child seat till they are in primary school, and they are NOT allowed in the front till they are in secondary school........

if there is an urgency, a deadline for you to meet before cny, i think forget forte......i got a feeling it's going to take a while for them to bring in the 2l....possibly because of a shortage of 2l's due to demands in north america...(they don't sell 1.6l there)......

i find it strange that almost a month after they launched the car, there is still no sign of the 2l version..........

since all the cars currently being released are cbu, it would appear this is an issue with korea........i think they are very short of 2l versions, and only sending over the 1.6l ones......the 1.6l cars are only sold in korea, spore and now msia........those going to oz and north america are 2l or 2.4l ones.........

i think there is a mistaken understanding about what ron rating means here.........higher ron rating is NOT better fuel.......it's just the amount of additives to prevent knocking of engines......if an engine is rated 91, you only need ron 91 to run the engine efficiently.......using a higher ron fuel does NOT make the engine function better..........

First time fill in petrol mah, try out the RON97, subsequently i will use RON95. See any diff in terms of power. My fren told me his city feels slightly less power when use RON95.
*
many people have 'personal' experiences of difference in power with different ron rated fuels.......that is likely very much a placebo effect........actual power tests in lab conditions shows no significant difference between ron ratings......for ordinary low ron rated engines......

however for finely tuned engines, with high ron ratings, there will be a downgrading of the tuning if a lower ron rated fuel is used (the ecu will adjust automatically when it sense knocking), and a perceivable lower power........we are talking bmw's and the likes here........
