EDIT: reason why... Naza launch the forte under the name of Naza Forte, with this local production car we are all benefits for cheaper price, if all forte is CBU.. definitely the price for Forte will not be that cheap... and as Naza promised to gov. they will only allow to sell CKD forte (must have some contract signed with gov.)
if discussion over CBU or CKD alerted the G.. then G will inspect the car again might makes all of us got delay to get the car.

is this similar to PPS protection? this one needs only 3.5 hours (PPS 6-7 hours)
further checks showed that waxson uses Nano Coat type ® - German; PPS uses Teflon -US..

how do u guys feel about the aircon? 1st time test drive as driver was ok. quite cool. but when i sat as passenger 2nd time around it was very hot at the back. of course it was very hot weather and car was parked outside in the hot sun. even after test drive finish still the back wasn't cool enough even though air con was max.

yayaya, we need sifu to knows PPS enlight us on this one, i definitely hope can pay cheaper but get the same quality product

my SA come to my house...his house same street with me...he said that i will get CBU....on january... so many version of story i heard here...some SA said this, some SA said that....wtf.

To me its really not that important whether u get CKD or CBU. As far as i know, Naza's CKD is to import the whole car into malaysia only without doors and windscreen attached. Well of course the SA can make many kind of promises...by telling u "sure get CBU one..." but hey, i dont think that will be stated in black and white right?

So, important thing is u had tested the car and u really like it. And during the delivery do remember to check thoroughly on the quality/defects.

Then the rest is to enjoy your purchase

Believe that few batch of FORTE is under CBU and rebadget NAZA because NAZA still monitor the sales response and planned for expanding the manufacturing equipment for FORTE CKD model.

Actually, their factory yet to ready to produce any FORTE CKD
So, buyers will continue receive CBU unit!

hi,i m newbir here ,pls count me in 2.0 forte (bright silver ). i booked on 11/11/09 at NASA MALL P.J . SA confrim me the expected delivery date will be 2010 FEB before CNY

This is my hypothesis on the current CBU dilemma.

I believe the news for first 500 units CBU is true. But formally (in black and white declaration to Gov), they have to declare it CKD. The reason behind it, I'm not too sure, but we can always speculate. I believe this part of the story is true because, two different salesman from different showroom told me the same story (actually, one of them was station in Pavillion during the launch, I was there).

And both salesman told me that 2.0 will not be delivered to peninsular customer because all 2.0 cars are ship to Langkawi, there is a great demand there for 2.0. That is the reason behind the waiting list of 2.0. My guess is, they didn't expect the car to be selling like hot cakes.

In FB, Kia Malaysia deny the fact that there are 500 units of CBU.

Another hypothesis is, Kia Malaysia is telling the truth but the % of localise parts is 0% at the moment. Naza purely do assembling of car only. I tend not to go with this story, even though it is high probable it is correct.
Why?

This is because the basic CKD Naza could do is to assemble car tyres and rim. Did you guys realised that all the show unit in Naza has a Korean make Tyre! (this includes the show unit in Pavilion) Go take a look, tyre also cannot assemble meh... this simple prove give me the very confident that its CBU.. can somebody go and take the picture of the tyre and post it here? hehehee... then lets see whether we can buy the tyre brand and model here in Malaysia
