Not only nice but based on the reviews in head-fi, I'd say they're 'bang-per buck' item. Now how would I justify another headphone on top of my current two headphones and three earphones...

I was contemplating to get one too but heck, few days ago tested out a Sennheiser(an expensive model) and gosh, I could not forget the sound esp. the bass.. now I could not get that Sennheiser out of my mind!

Nope!
Sennheisser is still the word!

If INSTRACO were to read those reviews, might jack up them prices loh...

Actually there're several Instraco branches around JP alone!

Those phone cables are kinda stiff and if you bend them too much, they break easily due to 'cold work'..

you can actually removed the sleeved steel cable..

Cables and the materials does somewhat affects how the sound is being perceived.
In my case, I moved on from that cable as I was just 'experimenting'. I did not like how it sounded. I found a more suitable cable at the corner hardware store..
Bottom line is, if you like the sound, why not!

I got meself a 681 this afternoon!
yep.. the 686 is currently out of stock, but there were 330 and 360 models.. and a Samson model too. I tried them all but I like the 681 within 3 seconds of auditioning!
Am listening to it right now.. need to 'burn in' for few hours but heck I'm impressed! My Senn HD201 will be collecting dust after this..

Will do that soon! I have plenty to write. Now at wee hours its great to do critical listening, spinning my reference discs...
I'll break the 10-20 hours first which should be sufficient to post any impressions.
As it is now.. it is 'sweet' and on all counts satisfied my listening preferences as far as headphones listening is concerned.
Of course at this price any complaints seem unjustified. There are obviously better phones at higher prices, no doubt about it, but it certainly give the more expensive ones a run for the money!
This reminds me of the T-Amp, TA-2024 specifically..

I did saw some IEMS there but did not gave them a try as they were NOT plugged into the 4 channel headphone amp that was used to test the display units.
Since I already have 4 pairs of IEMS and pretty much satisfied with them, I am sure I DO NOT need any new IEMS!

Kinda hard to justify to the Mrs. why I need a headphone+ an IEM.. but maybe after Raya eh?

3X IEMS for RM200 is really a tempation!

The B22 is excellent but nah.. I have some circuits that I cooked up (modifications from a basic circuit)
Maybe a tube headphone amp..see how lah.. hehe

But at this point of time, the built in headphone amp that comes with the CDP(high end unit) is of high quality and kick ass, I'd be happy with it for a while...
