I wanna have one also. So many positive review on the net about this can. On the other hand...all superlux phone are dirt cheap!
Why not give a try?
HD681 only rm 60-80, no regret at all.

This weekend mesti turun ke jalan pasar..... mau rembat satu..huhu. brows.gif

Yesterday I send an email to INSTRACO asking for the price of superlux HD681 and Mr Keong (their sales person I think)from the company replied this morning. He said the price for the can is RM85.

Wah...sudah naik RM5! sad.gif

Maybe our hot discusion here about superlux headphone make the can becoming hotter.

Cepat ...everybody grab one before the price increase like a hot cakes.

I have done a quick survey around seremban town this morning and found two shop selling HD681(this model only) but their price tag quiet mahal...RM120. sad.gif

Itu asoi cakap: "Tak bleh kulang lagi laa...ini balang baik punya".

I wonder how she knows this can is good? Have she tried it before?

May be she is an audiophile like us also....haha... who knows?

QUOTE(Hitman66 @ Aug 15 2010, 06:30 AM)
So I opened the box, impressed with what it have inside. It's a pleasant surprise that they include a carrying pouch with it so that you can carry the headphone everywhere easily.Honestly for the price given I didn't expect it to give any extra stuff other then the headphone alone. The headphones comes with two cables with different length (1m and 3m each) since the headphone can be detachable from it's cable, convenient really. It's pretty useful if you're into certain occasion where you need either the long cable or the short ones for your listening pleasure. The cable clip has been given to prevent the cable to be detached from your headphone easily.Kinda neat but I didn't bother to put it on since the attachment from the headphone and the cable is pretty strong to me so far.Last and not least a 3.5mm to 6.2mm converter and a B&O manual book which is thick, containing about what stuff they provided inside the box and some instruction on how to wear the headphones, etc.

The first thing I do on this headphone is removing the foam that covers the driver completely.Yeah as said by others it is thick and probably by using it probably most of the small detail of the song will be damped into the foam itself, making the overall sound quality to be decreased by miles. Also I'm kinda wondered why the hell they put the sticker at the drivers as well.Removed that afterwards and yeah now I got a clear view on how's the driver looks like inside. It's looks similar to KSC75 driver but it's bigger by comparison.Oh well when everything settles I plugged it in with my newly brought Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1.Already burning in since last week and it shows impressive result on my beyer dt770.Clicked the play button on my foobar and oh my god it sounds better then my SR60.I shit bricks afterwards shocking.gif

To my surprise, this is the first sub-RM500 headphone that can beat alessandro MS1 in large margin.Better separation, better clarity, punchier yet still controlled bass and better, wider soundstage has been showed to me.It still lose comparing to beyerdynamic DT440 though since the beyer has more advantage on soundstage. The mids is far smoother then the beyer DT440 which is great considering the fact that harsher mids brings more simbilance on vocal songs.I'm kinda stunned for a short time after all this though.Great headphone with ripped off price. That's something you don't see everyday lol.

The 3.5mm to 6.2mm converter plays a huge roll here though.I used the Audio Technica AT501CS converter plug and the results are the ones that I mentioned earlier.Changing it with the ones that I brought from Jaben Malaysia (RM10 each) and I notice that the sound signature has been changed somewhat; The mids becomes harsher, sound separation has become more clearer then ever.Changing it with the stock ones that comes with the superlux headphone will give you more boomy bass, causing me to have a slight headache after a few minutes wearing it.

Changing the stock with canare cables helps as well.In unamp condition it give 70% sound quality as the ones with proper amplification but using the stock cables alone. Can't imagine what will happen if I use the canare cable with Maverick D1 attached to it though, but then again the cable is not mine to begin with so I can't test further for more precise impression regarding it.

Honestly this is the best cheap headphone that I ever tried after the philips SHP805 which I brought 2 years ago.Still waiting for my review?Just buy the god damn headphone before the price hike happen.Shit rocks yo wink.gif

Since you didnt' mention any superlux headphone here, may I know which model you are referring to?

Thanks.

3X IEMS for RM200 is really a tempation!   drool.gif

The B22 is excellent but nah.. I have some circuits that I cooked up (modifications from a basic circuit) wink.gif
Maybe a tube headphone amp..see how lah.. hehe

But at this point of time, the built in headphone amp that comes with the CDP(high end unit) is of high quality and kick ass, I'd be happy with it for a while...

I would say superlux headphones are the best bang for the buck of the decade.

My first full size headphone was a cheap philips SHP 2700 which it price is about the same HD681 but in terms of sound quality is like heaven and earth.

I tell you it's like heaven and earth.

But take note that......I'm not saying superlux cans is the best headphone on earth!
