Question: why should I pay an extra RM5/month, for the next 20 months, when there is no guarantee that I will get the full speeds?

TM can't even provide me with the full 512kbps that I am subscribed to: how is one to think that upgrading to 1Mbits is any better?

It has nothing to do with speeds as it is to quality of service.

My ISP in Australia says "up to 24Mbit/s", my line sync is about 8Mbit/s (I'm a bit far from the exchange), and I have hit up to 600KB/s downstream for torrents.

However, my Youtube videos stream perfectly well. Heck, even loading TV3's VoD system is actually FASTER for me in Australia than here in Malaysia (Media Prima uses a 3rd party CDN. I have a feeling they're getting ready for HSBB). As a researcher, at least my PDF files come down instead of timing out because their UDP packets never arrive.
