use it mainly cuz folding performance is better under Linux than under Windows...

had got it running with VirtualBox, but dun seem very stable... now trying out VMware Server

becuz the SMP clients were written in Linux in the first place... and later adopt it for Windows... thus the Linux client runs better than Windows, even if u ve Linux in virtual machines...

there's 4 types of clients...

CPU Uniprocessor - only make use of 1 core, supports Windows, Linux and Mac
CPU SMP - multicore support, Windows, Linus and Mac
GPU2* - ATi and Nvidia GPU with stream architecture, Windows only
Cell - exclusively for PS3

*the original GPU client which runs on DX9 and ATi X1900 has been discontinued...

well, i do ve some lag when there's too much fire...
