just got myself a flash diffuser for my F58 today, going for model shooting tomorrow
but i have a few noob questions need to ask: 1. the tip of the flash only enter half of the diffuser? 2. normally when a diffuser is used, we will use it direct flash or still bouncing.. because when i shoot direct with the diffuser on, the picture turns out underexposed only got it nice when i bounced, but i can get almost the same result without even using the diffuser as well here is the picture taken by my iphone ![]() |

QUOTE(albnok @ Dec 13 2009, 01:02 AM) [ thanks for the info, hopefully can get several good shots today The diffuser is always halfway so that there is still some surface area in the 75 degree position (forwards is considered 0 degrees.) If you bought the original Stofen, it would come with a piece of paper that tells you to always put it up 45, 60 or 75 degrees (forgot which). It is underexposed in direct mode because your camera is set to ADI (flash power is based on lens focus distance.) You need to change it to Pre-flash TTL (flash power is based on whether the pre-flash is too weak or too strong.) will upload tonight for comments btw, yesterday tested A550 with CZ2470 and Sony 28-75mm F2.8 SAM and also A900 with 70200G, all are superb piece of lense discovered that A550 shutter button is too sensitive, hit a full press 4/5 times when want to focus..still prefer my A350 layout much better didnt know CZ2470 is that heavy, A550+CZ2470 alone is the same weight as my a350+battery grip with 2 battery and SAL24105 This post has been edited by v1rtual: Dec 13 2009, 10:48 AM |

QUOTE(ieR @ Dec 13 2009, 11:15 PM) v1rtual: like what freddy said, not flash, but the overall exposure is a little on the bright side. lower it a little might gives a more relax feel. yeah, a bit too late to realized..nothing i can do now freddy manson: your monitor is fine the results seemed fine on my camera LCD |

QUOTE(soulfly @ Dec 14 2009, 02:47 PM) no such thing as overkill. for this shot, yes i do have it in rawat iso 100~400, A200 is awesome with details. but A100 would be much crazier... heheh. Added on December 14, 2009, 2:48 pm do you have the raw file? but dont have any idea how should i edit it, to get the proper exposed of her but the background still remains as the original lighting This post has been edited by v1rtual: Dec 14 2009, 03:06 PM |

QUOTE(soulfly @ Dec 14 2009, 03:11 PM) i'm not sure about photoshop CS4 as i don't have one... but in lightroom, use the recovery slider to get back the lost details in the highlight. if i used recovery slider, it will also affect the model Added on December 14, 2009, 3:12 pmdetails at low iso any way like i can combine 2 pictures: 1 with proper exposed background and 1 with proper exposed model?? if can, how do i do that? |

QUOTE(craziqbal @ Dec 21 2009, 09:29 PM) v1rtual: through my eyes and my lcd monitor (heh), the first picture could use some improvement. the background is lit more than the subject (the model appears underexposed). maybe you could bring up the brightness on the subject. the as for the 2nd picture the model's face is a little too berkilat. maybe burn a little in kedaigambar. I like the poses. this is my observation la. cheers mate! yeah, for the first picture the bright background was due to flash on each side bouncing to the backgroundthanks for the intake |
