porkchop: Looks okay.

Braynumb: Nice #3! Have fun with the A700!

hkhk: Glad to hear. You will know pixel mapping is happening when you turn on your camera on the 1st of December and find that it takes longer to start.

hanafinoor: I think you know better than DCM (though the Tamron 90mm is good.)

Thanks! really enjoying the challenges this camera is throwing at me... tongue.gif WB is somehow a pain to set sometimes... hehehe...

Tested the 55-200 SAM at PC Fair just now with a500, the focus speed is awesome compared to SAL75300. Retail price going for RM700...

Thanks bro !  biggrin.gif  Yupp 70300G it is ..

Dude... seriously torn between the 70300G and Tammy 70200 f2.8... need the range, but need the low light shooting capability... and seriously wish there's a 70-300 f2.8... tongue.gif sure would cost a bomb... biggrin.gif

QUOTE(signither @ Dec 7 2009, 08:55 PM)
same here.. tammy 2.8 or a G?? hmm.gif

*
QUOTE(signither @ Dec 7 2009, 09:33 PM)
i don't need both of them.. and even if i have the money, i think it's better to go with 70200G rather than getting both of them..
*
I would get both if someone's willing to sponsor... tongue.gif but then, would agree with sig on that... rather than buy 70300G and Tammy 2.8, better I go for the 70200G... but main reason is to get what I would need with the money I have rite? so... still stuck here between 70300G and Tammy 2.8... borrowing tubik's Tammy 2.8 next week for a wedding... hopefully it works for me...

Added on December 8, 2009, 9:22 amAs for the 1680Z vs the 16105, I don't think it's a fair fight... tongue.gif somehow... love my 16105 for the range, but love the IQ of the 1680Z... and that's probably why the 1680Z used to be known as the "Cari Makan" lens in this thread... hehehe...

enji: Congratulations!

There is something about its black top, which looks very appealing... it somehow looks blacker than the A200 in a very suave way.
*
Ya lo... the a500 somehow looks so much better than the a550 IMHO... but the a550 functions still is better than the a500... still can't believe the a500 is available here!

did some comparison at dpreview.com, seems like a550 is better, with higher megapixel and fps. I don't know what else can i compare. but i understand that i have to pay a lot more to get a550.  anyway, it's my first slr, lets see what can i do with it  flex.gif

you'll have fun with it! that's the main thing... and just shoot, shoot and shoot!

Very NAIS indeed! I like your style! hehehe...

QUOTE(hokc77 @ Dec 8 2009, 02:43 PM)
haha.... me and you in the same limbo...
i don't wanna give up the smaller size, lighter weight, focus limiter and 300mm focal of my 70~300 G but I'm shooting more indoor events recently and low light is sadly not it's best features.

self poison with Tamron 70~200 at Artistry event..

Wah! all with Tamron 70200? very nais indeed! somehow really wish it could be smaller and lighter... but 70300G is really tempting too... hmm... really wish can have both... but really can't see any point in getting both lenses... now really biased towards the Tamron 70200... just wish they'd make a 70-300 f2.8 version... or Sony making a 70300G f2.8... waaaaaaaaaaa.....

QUOTE(Mavik @ Dec 8 2009, 03:18 PM)
I think best to have all three, 24-70 and 70-200 to have for the range and flexibility and the 135 for creative candid and portraiture shots.
*
always Imagined having a Sigma 12-24, 2470Z, 50 f1.4, 70200G, Tamron SP90 and the 135ZA. now that would really be covering all the lengths... Waaaa... Dreaminggggg... Dreaminggg.....

among all, i prefer the compo of #2. i think it would be better if u shoot only the side of the face or include more of the front. get what i mean?

#3 harsh lighting and the tree looks weird over there.

#6, try a tighter crop or stand further away...make the subject smaller..?

why do the pics look hazy? lack of the sharpness and oomph....

just my 2 cents
*
Dudeee.. thanks for the comment! #3 not sure about the tree... but #6, I was planning to include the bench in the image... Not sure why it's hazy myself... still getting used with the creative settings in my a700 and editing RAW files with UFRaw... tongue.gif need to do more photoshoots to get better... tongue.gif

the photos with flash looks less hazy than using natural light. agree with spooky on the harsh light. i don't mind the tree though.

good try geng. maybe later we go potraiture together and learn more.
*
Ahahaha... waiting for you to come back, then I organize a shoot together... My sis-in-law will be going back to kedah in january, so, we still have time... biggrin.gif
