QUOTE(orestes @ Dec 9 2009, 03:59 PM) Anyway it's simple, just put yourself into the situation, for example if you own a MISB G1 Fortress Maximus now which bought during the 90's @ RM220 (as mentioned ThunderClash), will you be selling the original retail price as for now? The answer will be the reason why never talk about history. This post has been edited by putu_mayam: Dec 9 2009, 04:05 PM |

Well I would look things at this way- All deals are between sellers and buyers, which is a mutual agreement. So there are no wrongs or rights when some1 sells something at expensive and the other party buy it at expensive. However we can't always look backwards and compare with history (again...). Price being jacked up not always because people scalp or the item(s) are rare, you have to understand the value of money will change time by time, which I believe where inflations kicks in. Example, RM200 in the 90's equivelant to RM2000 for present, Perhaps? Just my 2 cents. Peace.

QUOTE(Thunderclash @ Dec 9 2009, 05:19 PM) I think time value of money doesn't accelerate so fast leh. If RM200 in the 90s is equivalent to RM2,000 now (approx 20 yrs), you should be earning > RM100k 20 years from now. I don't think so. +1The reason why prices go up is mainly because supply far far outstrips demand. If just based on inflation, RM200 should only be about RM500 now. Again just my 2 sens worth. Added on December 9, 2009, 5:25 pm QUOTE(orestes @ Dec 9 2009, 04:35 PM) that is so misleading... He's referring to this one, don't think senget... ![]() This post has been edited by putu_mayam: Dec 9 2009, 05:25 PM |

QUOTE(Thunderclash @ Dec 10 2009, 09:06 AM) Bear in mind that the reason everybody wants the new MP04 is because of the fact that everybody knew that they could hardly afford the old MP04. So the surge in demand for the new MP04. After all those who want MP04 bought them already, definitely there will be extra supply and that causes the price of the new MP04 to drop. At the same time, due to the sudden cut off in demand of the old MP04, the price will drop drastically. Wait for 6 months and you will see the price of the old and new MP04 being more or less the same. [Case study: G1 Predaking Giftset] *Salute*City Commander, Shadow commander - please remember they are not official Takara nor Hasbro releases. So, we can say that they are in a way a form of fan product now commercialised! The price hike is nothing more of demand currently outstrip supply. Wait a while and you will see more reissues on the way. Which biz entity will give it a pass? |
