anyone try with high sierra brand backpack?
i found the explorer 55 which is 55 liter sell at RM277 promotion price with rain cover included.

Anyone have comment on the quality for high sierra backpack?

Is from Tearproof The curve but the promotion over.
Next promotion is in Dec.

Anyhow i bought the backpack. Look fine to me...not sure until i use it on my trip.

went to mdm.sia shop last sun to buy day trip hiking beg.
She gave me lots of helpful advice.
Bought Deuter Trans Alpine 30 liter for RM270. She even chat with me how to take care of the beg, how to wash the beg. Very nice person. RECOMMENDED!

i bought a high sierra explorer 55liter from tearproof last month for my upcoming oversea travels.
Then bought another day trip deuter 30liter this month for my regular weekend hiking day trip.
2 begs in total.

The beg mainly manufacture in china. the quality is normal cannot last long.
If you looking for a long term, comfortable and ergonomic beg, please buy the beg specialist brand.

I have a hiking beg which is unknow brand. i can tell u is very uncomfortable when i pack lots of thing in the beg and go hiking.
The new deuter beg i bought very comfortable when i put on my back.

i faced the same situation as u. caz next year i will heavily travel to oversea and i tot of buying a larger capcity backpack.
Buy deuter larger capacity beg so expensive and mdm sia commented that deuter larger beg is not comfortable to used for long hours.

That is why i decided to buy high sierra(www.highsierrasport.com)55liter beg from tearproof.
Caz during the travel time i will bring along my 30 liter deuter beg as day travel beg.
And 55 liter will be my airplane onboard beg.

high sierra brand have the same feel and design like deuter but less expensive.
For sure the Quality will be lower than deuter and no life time warranty lar.

If you plan to buy from tearproof, wait for DEC mega sales they are doing mega sales which have average 20% to 30% discount.
My advise lar, you really need to try it out in real person before you decide to buy or not.
and you need to know how frequent will you used the larger capacity beg? if very frequent is worth to invest for deuter.
But if less then you can buy less expensive brand.

try imagine will you walk around KK with the larger capacity beg?
very heavy and tired lol.

you can try your luck wait for warehouse clearance from world of sport which sometime have sometime no.
Else you can go Mid Valley jusco, there are selling old deuter beg.
Another alternative mdm. sia shop she gave 30% immediately. I have compare Jusco price with mdm sia and still mdm sia price is the cheapest for deuter by almost RM100. mdm sia do sell fake deuter lar....but how long lasting i never ask

if mdm sia, she will advice you have to take care like how to wash the beg.

oic...i not sure in about penang area is there any shop like her 1.
You can actually go around penang....find the suitable beg 1st.
then only u start look around where have cheapest price.

i can give u mdm sia shop phone no.
Maybe u can ask call directly see she can courier to u or not...and check the price.
not sure izit expensive to courier begpack.

indeed she have karrimor brand, but i not sure the models ur listed above have or not lar

i did compared the beg i bought and found no different.
But i do agreed with u, i did some research before this and till now there is no guideline on how to detect the replica beg.

for mdm.sia, if she really try to cheat us then, i think this will be 1 and only time business for her.
i will not buy anything from her if this is replica. till now there is no any suspicious point.

Well, if really want to be safe, you can buy from UFL distributor. UFL distributor is the sole official distributor in Malaysia.
Tell u the experience, i went to their showroom at Bangsar. Service is SUCK, never ask anything and never give advice.
The price is extreme expensive lar.

from shah alam, i think u can take KTM komuter. But i not sure what station izit call.
However u need to walk for across a distance to get to Pertama complex :S

If you take bus, just ask for bus passby Pertama complex.
Mostly is buses to Jinjang, Kepong, Setapak, Gombak.

Oh ya. Mdm. Sia did sell replica deuter. She did ask me looking for original or replica.
The replica price she offer is half of the price of original.

Maybe this round, you can go ask her how we differentiate an original and replica beg.

i did saw some guideline posted by other to identify original beg in lelong.com.my.
But not sure izit true or not? caz is not the official guideline from deuter.

The beg i bought matched the original/genuine marking lar.

That is why i choose different brand for my larger liter beg.
I think the padding for deuter for larger liter backpack is not so comfortable compare to high sierra.

oh ya just to share my opinion with deuter alpine trans 30liter
i use the beg to climb G.nuang which is a 10 hours hiking up and down hill.
one word to said..."COMFORTABLE"! my shoulder won't feel tired although i carry 4 liters of water + mixed stuff.

RM270 with rain coat build in.
I checked in the net, this model won lots of prices and award.
The beg at first was design for biker but i think it suitable for my day trip hiking.

really RECOMMENDED!

i have not use the high sierra beg yet.
will let u know after i use that to travel 2 countries in this dec and jan

Added on November 25, 2009, 9:20 amforgot to mentioned. i used this deuter beg hike G.nuang few weeks beg.
With 4 liters of water + rain coat + extra pair of sandal + misc things.

Imagine hike for 10 hours with beg on your shoulder.
Luckly this beg is very very comfortable.

When finished i did not feel pain or tired on my shoulder or back.
I going to use this beg again this week to hike G.nuang again!

this beg was designed for biker actually.
So the black flap is to hold helmet.
But i use that to hold my sandal/shoe during my hike

if u stay near metro prima, i will advise u to take bus rather than train.
If by bus, u just come down at Pertama Complex.
Caz if you take train u still need to walk for around 10 minutes. quite far the KTM station to pertama complex.

When reach Pertama complex look for the Maybank ATM machine near food court.
The shop is near by there same floor as the ATM machine. Behind all the handphone shop.
