Not too sure if this is the right thread to post, but would like to enquire something regarding backpack. I'll be going for my 1st ever backpacking trip this coming October for 16 days. Definitely I'll have to get myself a backpack. I'm a gal. Budget for one hopefully not over RM500. Maximum I can go is RM600. Which bag would you guys recommend? Thank You so much

QUOTE(b00n @ Jun 8 2011, 11:50 PM) Again, do not be fooled by seeing Eurasian backpackers backpacking with their bags on their bag. When you meant backpacking trip, do you intend to bring your bag everywhere with you whenever you travel? How are you travelling? If you're not travelling much and doesn't need to bring your bag everywhere you go, why would you need a backpack? Wouldn't a bag with trolley wheels or spinners even easier to bring around? Personally if I'm going on holiday, I don't really like to bring backpack. One thing I don't like is packing of cloths. With a normal luggage, I can just unzip and find my things easily instead of stuffing my things into backpacks and sometimes when needed, have to take everything out because it's in the bottom of the pack. So think carefully hat's your purpose and why you need a backpack before buying one. Boon, actually, the trip is more like a spontaneous one. Without proper planning of places to stay or how to go about. Even we are ready to sleep anywhere (public places) if we have to. also, we won't really be staying at a place. most likely gonna move quite alot. Of course I personally would prefer those trolley kinda bag as I can use it some other time, plus backpack are freaking expensive. But then, judging from my kinda trip this time, prolly carrying something behind me would be better.

QUOTE(b00n @ Jun 10 2011, 11:19 PM) If that is the case, then get a Deuter. Deuter got "SL" range meant more for woman. Yeah. I saw that range too. Will a 50 L enough for 16 days huh? Also, this might be a silly question, for these kinda bags, is there such thing as trolley-like attachment which I can buy separately to attach to my bag in case I need it?lol

QUOTE(b00n @ Jun 11 2011, 12:07 AM) 16 days is very long. You'll definitely need to find laundry shops. But anyway, you can also look for "compression sack" something like this: http://www.seatosummit.com/products/display/39 So you pack your cloths inside and there's 3-4 draw cords to let you tighten it i.e. to compress your clothing. How big a pack you need actually depends on individual. Try prepare a list of items you want to bring. Then go shopping and try to imagine to see whether or not it will fit. Backpacks with trolley, yes there is. I think TearProof got. But whether or not it's comfortable I'm not sure. Thank you so much boon for your reply. It helps. Now I'll have to look for the best bargained price at the right place. Thanks again
