Parliament paid RM12K for each computer

KUALA LUMPUR: The new computers installed for Members of Parliament in the Dewan Rakyat cost a whopping RM11,916 each.

In a written reply to Fong Po Kuan (DAP-Batu Gajah), the Prime Minister’s Department said the touchscreen computers, including the cost of installation, cost RM11,233 each.

Furthermore, an additional RM320 was paid for the keyboard, mouse and tilting bracket, while an 80GB hard disk cost RM363.

The computers were installed before the current Parliament started on Oct 19 for all 222 MPs, which brought the total bill to more than RM2.6mil.

80GB SSD is almost RM800 la..

Can buy i7/Asus Rampage/6GB RAM/ATI 5970/1TB HDD with that money.

Is our gomen really that stupid?The finance ministry can order directly from dell website for much cheaper price.
A RM3K pc will only cost about RM666K.

Just get a P4 3.2GHZ ... 1GB RAM and 80GB harddisk with 17"LCD ... CUKUP LA.. Cost also less than RM1k.....

If you report about those projects are overprice,
you will get arrested first due to leak out confidential information before they going to check it out.

Everyone in /k/ knows or at least those who are Tech Savvy, that a standard computer cost is below or 1K plus, including LCD Monitor. Lets assume that's it's 2K max. Now with a mark up profit of 10K each, let say split between 2 party, you take 5K and I take 5K. Now assuming they buy 20PC, that's a whopping 100K profit and the best part is, it's probably from the people's tax money. Wow you can sure enjoy a couple months of SPA or pay as downpayment for a beemer, you get the idea.

So in the end who profit? Those 2 crony obviously. How about the rest of the people? Well they just kissed their sorry har earned money goodbye.


Who's the dumbass who says about increasing GDP and talking about economy like he knows it on the back of his ass?

Anywhere, I don't think only the seller "untung" in this case...
How can the idiot be so clever to buy a computer worth RM2k with RM12k while there are plenty of places selling at 2k?

This is nothing personal but our government!
This is not the first time we know this kind of issue, but mostly no action is taken and nobody will take responsible on it.

They must finish or used up the budget this year, otherwise next year cannot get higher allocations. The costs is for skim sewabeli, rosak/hilang ganti baru, so in long run better than buy new PC at half price. If dunno the terms and conditions dun simply said, they follow every rules and procedures
