My parents are planning on getting some plasma tv or really flat tv for their hometheater. Alot of people come during weekends to watch tv, chat, bbq, watch football, dvd, ect ect. Just to give a brief description on the enviroment. Since im staying there too i planning to add a console like Wii or X360 and maybe the PS3.
They want it flat and if possible, hang it on the wall.  I showed her this pic. And she said something like this. Another thing i dont know is the lifespan of these tv. Since is my parents who is using it. I dont think they want to change it often. Ill try looking at samsung. I havnt been doing any comparing because im really busy these days. Im open for anything.
And i dont think plasma is cheaper. Form the post before. But i might be wrong. 42" Sony plasma costs RM21k which is RM11k more than the LCD |

Do they have a slim screen like sony that can be hang ona wall? i see all of them has the support thinggy below. i guess its removeable. anything close to that? say around 40". I just got back frm work and will search more for it tmr. I hope u guys can narrow down my search.

Guys i found these two LA40M61B (LCD) and the SP-50L6HX/SP-50L7HX (DLP)
The LCD didnt say anything about 720p/1080i. And the samsung site didnt have any price at all.. Is DLP more expansive? I went on wiki and found out that DLP has many problems. But plasma has a 60,000 - 50,000 hrs life span. Does that Leave me with LCD? Putting aside CRT |

I should do some research myself actually before asking or maybe actually visiting a TV store. So i found some free time today and went to subang parade and went to the Electronics place there (where Toys r' us used to be).
I found out that DLP is really bad at certain angle. And its very reflective making it glaring. LCD.. is kinda ok. But Plasma is very clear. And Of course Plasma is very expansive. Now its between Samsung PS-50P5H and Pioneer PDP-5060HD. But pioneer is 24k and samsung is 17k only. I dont remember exact figures. Its a lot of diff (pricetag).
