using 1360x768 vga samsung 40r71
sharper compare to component output 720p fr video card.
1080i comp out is clearer but black bar seen., need to overscan.

Sorry if i am wrong.
To fully dispaly 1080i pictures , u need a native 1080p panel.
But by using scaling , a 1368x768 panel able to show 1080i, but u may not able to see the true effect of 1080i.
In a good lcd tv 1080p with good scaler ,a 1080i HDTV can be as good as 1080p, refer to
