1. sony xxxxm61 series(using by xxboxx) price 1799++

hmm...limited choice we have...

philips problem with 360? no 720p ?...oh....only 1 to choose  rclxub.gif

Just bought the philips 29pt8845 last friday for about 1.5k from hsl, manual stated that it does support 720p and 1080p as well. Took abit of time to tune the color to my liking. The first 5 hours or so the color and PQ of the progressive scan image through my denon 1920 dvd player connected to the TV was awful ( pixelization / noise / jaggies/ vertical lines all over the screen) . Still running in the tv and can see the PQ improve day by day. sweat.gif wink.gif

I notice that in dark scenes in a movie, the black level through progressive is way darker than interlaced. Dunno whether its the player or the tv causing this. Noticed the color from the philips is not as vibrant as my old JVC 50hz tv, but the color seems to look "thicker" and more natural.

Hope this helps!

I've never been a fan of sony tv so my choice was clear wink.gif Can really see the difference through the pixel plus, although its the older technology.

Just an update, the philips 29pt8845 wont do 576p. The tv will detect it but the picture will be jumping all over the place and there will be some vertical lines on the image. Just double checked at philips website, the 576p mode is not listed... only 480P / 720P and surprise surprise - 1080P.

Wah lau senq really throwing price kau kau, saw their ad for benq... 26" lcd = 2999 / 36 months = rm 83+ and 32" = 4999 / 36 months = rm 138+. But applicable to rhb cr cards only. Maybe lcd sales not doing so well, over stock so every1 throw price, hehehe. Very tempted but got the philips crt instead, i watch a lot of astro and normal tv, so the 16:9 format not really suitable, 4:3 images will look weird lar.

Where did you bought it from? I asked The Hi-Fi Shop at 1 Utama and they quoted RM1700 and then they wanted RM650 for a Monster HDMI cable rclxub.gif
