shameful. need any more proof that football isn't as clean and wholesome as its projected to be? wake up and smell the thorns. the argument that officials 'didn't see it' just doesn't hold water anymore. soo any chance of blatter/platini condemning this injustice? swept under the carpet by their selective judgement as usual. its always 'okay' if bad calls only affect certain teams.

I think this hurts alot more for the typical Irish fan. The World Cup only comes once every four years and an opportunity to go so close won't come around very often. Plus, to many of the key players in the team, this was their last opportunity of getting into the tournament. Must hurt like hell.

Some French fans posting on football forums are surprisingly actually embarassed that their country had to resort to cheating to go through. Blatter and Platini though, as usual, would sweep it under the carpet and pretend it never happened. If Ireland had done the same to France, you'd have those "authorities of football" asking the slaves to replay the match.
