izit worth to use digi BIS on my curve 8520 that lack of 3G? :|

Of cos.... BlackBerry data is compressed and optimized.... even without 3G speed is good. BlackBerry without BIS is like car without tayar tongue.gif

so diginet , digistrm and blackberry.net is the same? no charges if using smart plan? only digistrm works for youtube? someone pls confirm
*
all no charges, but both digistrm and diginet works for youtube. For other streaming services like some online radio app I tested, diginet seems to be working but digistrm does not. So I think diginet still the best

btw guys~ digi capped at 3gb rite?
*
3gig but usage after that is still free, just slightly slower. If use as phone its like almost impossible to hit 3gigs smile.gif Blackberry compress all data usage like crazy so its much more efficient than any other phone!

wahhh.. 170++ monthly?

Hmm...Im using Digi for BIS and Celcom for call.

Not really efficient right?
*
Nola... Not efficient... U just need to use a bit of voice you already qualify for 25% rebate on BiS...(total bill hit rm100) Must make sure u use at least some voice on Digi

Penalty is around RM 500  smile.gif
*
Penalty is just a subsidy recovery. Ask any of the digi center people to show you the calculation.

its retail price minus subsidized price - which is prorated based on amount of months you have left on the contract + RM100 admin fee.

Which means... if your phone RRP is RM1000 and you got it for RM500 on a 24 months contract, if you quit halfway at 12 months

it is...RRP-Subsidized price = 1000-500 = RM500,
then prorated 12 months left on contract = RM250
then +100 admin fee = RM350 contact termination fee.

Which is quite OK cos

1. They don't charge you for the remaining service which you never use
2. If you look carefully all they are trying to do is recover a PORTION of the subsidy they provided for the phone
3. Even after you terminate halfway or whatever - most of the time you still save money vs buying it outside without contract

yeah thats what the ocs told me,thought can change without any penalty.

Nola cannot change without penalty otherwise everyone will sign up unlimited plan, take phone on contract, then move to smartplan lite tongue.gif

DiGi penalty charges:

12 month - RM300
24 month - RM500

Same goes to Maxis, but Celcom I not sure...
*
No.. digi has a penalty which tries to recover the subsidy given out..closer you are to end of contract life, the cheaper it is

i tot its fixed. didnt know that  biggrin.gif
*
iPhone is fixed cos there is small subsidy on the phone and big subsidy on the plan.. The berries have big subsidy on the phone, so the penalty is variable based on the tenure of contract
