I pulled the trigger and book a HC today. Traded off my Toyota Harrier 99 for a smaller sedan car in preparation for the petrol price hike. Expected delivery before end of July...

QUOTE(hush_puppies @ Jun 1 2010, 08:07 PM) well, if u changing car due to the petrol issue, frankly, NHC is not really a fuel saver. I'm being a NHC owner for 1 year++, i am totally a light footer, but this NHC doesn't help me saving my $$ in my wallet a lot. IMHO, vios is much more doing better in FC issue. major of my frens who own vios easily beat my FC. 1 more issue is the suspension. Honda city much more stiffer than toyota that cause uncomfortable but u win in handling. So since u change from Harrier to NHC, be prepared to its stiff ride, and most annoying its noisy tyre sound. well, just my 0.5 cent TQ for the heads up... Will replace the wheels upon delivery. Consumption on Harrier is horrible...

My City is expected to be delivered on or before end of the month. I am planning to change to Continental tyres to Michelin 205/55/16. Wonder it will be the right choice amdwhere to get the best deal??

QUOTE(Thrust @ Jun 5 2010, 09:12 PM) I would suggest you to go for 195/55/16 instead. 205/55/16 will make your wheel looks bulgy like those American stock car tyres. 185 and 195 would hardy make any difference in road handling right? This post has been edited by outdoorxplorer: Jun 5 2010, 09:28 PM

QUOTE(Thrust @ Jun 5 2010, 10:18 PM) There will be difference but certainly for 205/55/16, you will feel more traction. My suggestion also emphasized on cosmetic outlook as well. That is why I recommend you to go for 195/55/16. No harm... Will take a look at 195 too. By the way, how much is Michelin PS3 195/55/16???

Just checked from Michelin's site and noticed that there's not 195/55/16.. Only 205/55/16.

QUOTE(choon hon @ Jun 6 2010, 12:03 AM) hey, changing the tires to 205 will effect the car's FC? just wanna know, planning to change to 205 as 185 is seriously not 'wide' enough for me =) ... Theoretically with the additional weight ad friction, it should increase a small percentage of FC but it will be compensated with better road handling. Which tyres are you planning to upgrade? Added on June 6, 2010, 11:43 amJust came back from tyre shop and realized that 205/55R16 & 195/55R16 will be overkill. Decent and reasonable fitting will be 195/50R16 on stock 16" wheels. Comment please. This post has been edited by outdoorxplorer: Jun 6 2010, 11:43 AM

QUOTE(Thrust @ Jun 6 2010, 03:39 PM) Yes bro, I would suggest you to go for 195/50/16 to replace our original 185/55/16. 195mm width will give you better traction/bite on the road. 50 series tyre will give you better cornering feel as compared to 55 series (You will feel less floaty with a 50 series tyre) I tried taking a corner with the original 55 series tyre & it really gives a terrible floaty feeling.  Btw, what brand of tyres do they have for that size (195/50/16)?. ContiPremiumContact™ 2 & Yoko Advan A048 have that size. This post has been edited by outdoorxplorer: Jun 6 2010, 04:47 PM

QUOTE(Thrust @ Jun 6 2010, 04:53 PM) I would go for Yoko Advan... How much does it cost? As for Continental, i think they are now made in Malaysia by Sime tyres. I havent got that price yet. Hopefully it is less than RM300 per piece. Other option will be Yoko A Drive R1. Added on June 6, 2010, 6:10 pmYoko C Drive is getting pretty good review too. Wait for another year wanna mod the exhaust.. haha... the roar will be more solid.. guess gua.. The K&N is a must.. I had the aftermarket filters in all my previous cars.. and the City is not exceptional. Scratching my head now how to replace the stock horn... It is not that easy though.

QUOTE(TarePanda @ Jun 8 2010, 07:56 PM) I wonder this is my city car problem or it's common Back from small trip...splash water to my front rim...omg, smoke come out is this normal? I didnt brake too hard...just normal and casual ride Splashing water to brake rotor is not a wise decision. It will cause the uneven brake rotor by doing so. Stop doing that.

QUOTE(tauevo @ Jun 8 2010, 08:11 PM) What do u feel after put in the filter? QUOTE(jytanx @ Jun 8 2010, 08:18 PM) what's K&N to be exact ah? How does it improve the car? Mind guiding? Want to get it myself too. Slight performance improvement due to be petrol and air combustion. Just use the correct drop in replacement K&N will do. Ultimately you will save in air filter replacement cost.
