Hey girl, there's something call the Cervical Cap if you haven't heard about it. But I'm not sure whether we can get it in Msia.
You can ask your gynae about it. I would like to get it too if anyone actually comes across it. If I'm not mistaken, the gynae will insert it for you.

Actually for my case, whenever I'm fertile and had unprotected sex, I'll just turn to Postinor2. Save all the trouble worrying and waiting for menses to come.

Regarding BC Pills, you should ask your gynae about it because certain BC pills might have an effect in the future, such as can't conceive or effects on the baby. I'm sure they are pills that can minimize effects. I took the pills once and my mood swings was awful. I argue with my bf for almost 4 or 5 times in a day when we went on holiday. So I don't really like the pills.

I also follow the theory of sex during unfertile period and it works quite well for me since my period is quite stable. And I know that I'm ovulating by monitoring my vaginal discharge.

i think postinor is a 'morning after' pill rather than prevention. it has side effects and is not recommended as a regular thing, only when u 'terbuat'. i think it increases the risk of breast cancer and messes up the cycle as well

First of all, I seriously can't imagine the amount of misconception and myths about the pill and the most effective contraceptive methods stated here... I'm horrified!

Ejaculating during the "safe period" does not work! no NO!! Sperms can survive for about max 3-5 days (not sure). So if you ovulate on day 14, and have sex on day 9 thinking you're in the "safe zone", Baaammm! You'll be having sleepless nights for the next 1 year....and 9 mths! (LOL). Thta's because the sperm can survive up to when ovulation occurs and then...fertilisation takes place, and the rest is history.

The pill is the most effective method. Try Yaz instead (Yasmin's sister:)). A couple of my friends are on it. It's the only OC (oral contraception) in Malaysia indicated for the treatment of mild/moderate acne AND treatment of PMDD (a more severe form of PMS). It's also the only birth control pill that has proven properties of preventing fluid retention (hence no weight gain) and antiandrogenic properties (positive benefits on the skin). Please do check out the the new 24/4 pill. Instead of taking the usual 21 days, then stop 7 days. a 24 days, then stop 4 days is much better; as it promotes compliance and less hormone fluctuations (no mood swings...etc).

If I have a girlfriend, I'd definitely want the best for her. The Pill has advanced much over the past 5 decades. The non-contraceptive benefitsare well proven and known.

implanon insertion sometimes cause skin rash and unsightly scarring, and some cases, after a few years, there might be difficulty finding its location as it "moves" in the arm.

While one has to take the pill everyday, given the benefits of the pill (prevents miscarriages, cancer..etc), I still feel the pill is the best option. www.yesican.com.my has a good resource on this.
