very slow in ipoh today. reset so many times. 1 mbps only can get 215 kbps. called u and launch a complain but they refuse to open because they say is under service for the northern part of malaysia what is this?

You all got this problem?
*
Yeah i'm frm ipoh too, morning the connection still ok but since around 1 pm very slow...
but weird is d/l frm hotfile is ok... normal speed 130++kB/s on my 1 mbps connection.

no luck for SS (<2kB/s) MU still acceptable (>10kB/s)

Last week I couldn't even logged in at all frm Friday nite to Sunday afternoon. Called them n they told me there is
an outage affecting more than 1,000 customers in the Northern Region...

when u dl something from hf, get the url, something like ( http://s101.hotfile.com )

proceed to command prompt and ping, something like (ping s101.hotfile.com) and get the result

compare that to what you get from mu and/or rs and u know why

the latency to hf servers are within 250ms

the latency (for today) to mu servers are >350ms

and the latency (for today also) to rs servers, in my case, jump to >600ms !

I guessed u speak a bit too fast. Speed in Ipoh was back to normal this morning but since around 10.41 am back to crawling speed like
yesterday!!!!

However HF is still ok like yesterday.

Hope they will fix the Northern Region prob ASAP. Last week almost 2 days cannot even log on. sweat.gif

Anyone from Puchong?
Unable to connect to streamyx for the past 2 days even though DSL light is not blinking.
*
I'm in Ipoh, like I mentioned above last week from Fri nite to Sunday afternoon, I can't logged in to
Streamyx.
And yes, my DSL is NOT blinking also.

So I think you should call 100 if still cannot tomorrow since mine came back in 2 days n
they is some prob in the nortern region, but Puchong is not in the North.

These few days, speed like roller coaster in Ipoh, suddenly very fast
then the next moment straight drop to very slow w/o warning.

Hope the problem with Northern will be fixed soon.

My streamyx was 4mbps now but download speed will never reach more than 250kb per sec~

Maybe you should try downloading a few files at the same time (and see if u are getting a higher d/l speed: ADD the d/l speed for the diff files)
If you are using some FREE direct d/l service there is a limit on the maximum speed imposed by them
(i'm not sure what's the max and it might and should be diff for diff sites)

for 4 Mbps, u should be able to get around 500kB/s (notice the DIFFERENCE between "b" and "B")

so it's (4 Mbps = 500 kB/s) you can state your speed in b (bits) or B (bytes).

Actually your ping to a local server at 11 Mbps is much HIGHER than the speed you subscribe (which is good)
Try ping some INTERNATIONAL servers e.g. US, German (Europe) ...... as most of the d/l sites are hosted
there n see if u r getting a good speed.

BTW I assume u are getting d/l speed at around 250 kB/s and not 250 kb/s
which is around half the max speed u are subscribing (and remember the d/l speed might
slow down a lot if you are doing heavy browsing at the same time e.g. watching youtube)

Actually while watching youtube or other video sites you are (usually) downloading
the videos into your temp file. in short watching youtube = d/l
