i think only sometimes delay and depends on your location..
if u location the telco got problem sure delay la..
but the delay would not last long...
sure the telco will do something about it..

Once I received a sms 7 hours late from my friend. It said ' Im at the meeting point'. I was shocked when I received the message cause I though I had forgotten a meeting. I called and realized that It was a very long sms delay. he sent the message at around 8 am, I received it at about 4 pm.
Im 016, he is 012, not sure whos fault was it.

Edit, forgot 012 016 no point d. He is using Maxis and I am using Digi.

Most of sms delay problems are phone related problem. Certain phone model are very prone to have sms delay problem. It's due to Radia base station can't locate your phone when your phone is in idle state for very long time.

there are two type of delay

1. delay in sending the actual msg (sms)
2. delay in sending the delivery report

sometime, the sms already sent but we still didn't receive the delivery report. the delivery status report itself consume bandwidth.. that is why most telco disable it during festive season..

in my experience with celcom (at my place), the delay sms problem sometime occurred especially during peak hour (9pm to 11pm) because at this time the sms usage volume among celcom users is very high.

at normal hour, everything work fine.
