3GS? just wait for the untethere JB release la.. no point to JB it now.. Everytime reboot will stuck at the apple logo and need to re run the JB process again..

Hey.. i am back.. But, i have a question for you guys to help up.. I don't have 3GS to test out.. But, this is my idea.. not sure it works or not..

1.My question is.. My friend has accidentally upgrade 3GS to via itunes to ver 3.1.3. Now he is stuck(he did not store his SHSH cert to Cydia b4), as we know neither blackra1n or pwnage tools can JB it IF YOU ARE already in official 3.13 firmware.

So, i was thinking that can we use the customs "iPhone1_1_3.1.3_7E18_Custom_Restore_NotActivated.zip" firmware that made by someone using Pwnage tools. Then, restore it via itunes?

So, with this the phone is now JB..

Added on April 5, 2010, 4:19 pmNo la friend... the baseband 5.12 has nothing to do with JB.. Rather it is for unlocker... Since you are using a unlock phone(DIGI/MAXIS etc.).. You no need to worry for any baseband update at the moment.. If geohot or dev team release a untethered JB for firmware 3.1.3... U just run it without the need to worry about the baseband update.. As, it is none of the business for a unlock iphone..

3.1.3 can't be JB for now.. And if u r in 3.1.2.. U also no need to JB on 3GS. As, this is tethred JB. means.. if u restart your phone.. It will stuck at boot logo.. And u need to plug into computer n re-run the JB process again in order for your iphone operate. And what if you are outside? then how?

Yes.. But, i am not doing a downgrading.. When a new firmware being roll out by apple. They will immediately stop signing the previous/lower version to stop you from downgrading..But, here i am using a customize ver 3.1.3 firmware from pwnage tools..so, will this JB a unjailbroken firmware 3.1.3 3GS iphone?

There is no way to fix it.. As, it is already mention the current JB on 3GS is tethred JB.. Tethered JB means... e v time u reboot iphone.. It will go back and u need to connect to itunes and re run the jail break process again..This is what it means..

Spirit is great.. Finally 3GS is Jail broken.. and most important is untethered.. Geohot is the 1st guy to show his untethred JB.. But, end up spirit.. Is Spirit by Dev team? As, they accept donation too..

The JB does not support UNLOCK ! So, u have to keep your iphone 3GS aside for now...

If you are using official UNLOCK phone.. No worry at all. Go ahead and RESTORE your iphone to firmware 3.1.3.. Then run spirit to JB it.. that is all

yup.. teanbread.. your phone is totally dead now.. You still have hope if you did store your SHSH cert to Saurik servr b4 for the downgrade of 3.1.2.But a downgrade to 3.1.2 won't downgrade your baseband...u really need to keep your iphone in drawer for the time being and use a nokia first..
@yezhacolic. Now UK O2 offer official unlock phone d.. U can bought it at UK and pay for full amout + unlock fees.. that is all.. No contract needed.. If counvert to RM .. it is about RM 2300 only for a 16GB 3GS..

sorry for that bro.. as your baseband has been updated..No one can unlock it for now..That is why.. have to be very cafefull. Make sure that u know what you are doing.. Else, disaster strike..
