I just got my new Maxis Black 3GS 3.12 MC model . JB using blackra1n latest ver from geohot website. Successfully JB the device , installed cydia , backgrounder . After reset the 3GS turned into Itunes recovery mode ( itunes picture and USB cable ) . Anybody having this kind of issue? is there any potential fix?

thanks kebeckham7 and rip_code, its the non tethered jailbreak... hopefully geohot will release a new ver for blackra1n

im using the latest 3gs with latest bootrom , the only choice i have is tethered JB by using Blackra1n. i understand the need to rerun Blackra1n after reboot. However my unit will go into random reboot once a while .it was annoying if it happened when u need the iphone badly and there was no PC/laptrop to rerun blackra1n. anyone has the same issue? now i have to resort to plain Apple 3.12 fw and it sucks w/out JB!

Even if u can upgrade the bootroom is still the same

have a look ate the phone serial number . look at the 4th and 5th serial number , if it is less than 40 ( im not sure ) its the older bootroom. that 4th and 5th number indicate manufacturing weeks . mine is 41 thus indicating newer boot hence i can only tethered JB. sigh

what happen if u rerun blackrain after u get the restore mode? can show the serial number so that we can see the manufacturing week?
