I would have bought MW2 if not for the matchmaking.
I absolutely despise matchmaking. Sure, it's fine if you live in the US/EU but if you live in Malaysia, I hope you enjoy being matchmaked to 300 ping servers 90% of the time.

I hated it when I played online on my 360, I hated it when I had to matchmake in L4D, and I still hate it now.

tl;dr: MP is not worth playing if you don't live in the US/EU since you'll get matchmaked with people from there 90% of the time.
