QUOTE(zeone @ Feb 5 2012, 08:54 AM) Using GPS on iPhone has Sat searching probs esp with tinting on front w/screen... Any recommendations re true GPS modules/units in such a situation? Never encounter this problem with an iPhone4 even with the v-cool tint that block SmartTag signal. BTW Sometimes even indoor I can still get SAT signal with iPhone4! Maybe you try reposition to the right near the side windows?

Added on March 3, 2012, 2:02 pmQUOTE(jackyyong @ Feb 11 2012, 07:12 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I think it should be \garmin-nav.app\storage-usa\poi
Remember to use iFile to change the permission for all the files that you added:
Ownership: Owner: mobile; Group: mobile
Access Permissions: User: Read, Write, Execute Group: Read, Execute World: Read, Execute
I dun use custom POI, so I can't really help .....

Yes, very similar indeed. I used to have a Nokia 5800 XM, so I can compare between the two. Initially when I bought my iPhone, I was very reluctant because the best thing about the Nokia 5800 was the Garmin MobileXT. At that time, there was no GPS that was comparable to it on the iOS platform. Now that I found out about this, I finally feel my migration to iOS is justified. Please share and distribute the news! Any screen shots or mini review? Does it recognized gmapsupp.img? This post has been edited by DarkNite: Mar 3 2012, 02:02 PM

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Mar 5 2012, 11:22 AM) Yes, the iPhone Garmin Onboard does recognize gmapsupp.img Use MFM compile as GarminXT map. Liddat must try Garmin Onboard. Nowadays the MFM map is very big and the Garmin MobileXT is have trouble processing it. You place the MFM map which folder in iPhone?

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Mar 5 2012, 03:02 PM) Follow the steps shared above (or several previous posts in this thread). You need to set the file permission inside iPhone also. I have no problem using it and navigation. However, now searching which folder to put those Custom POI in iPhone. You mean no POI in navigation mode? How about Text-to-Speech? Does it tells you the road name?

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Mar 5 2012, 05:02 PM) MFM POI = got. Can search POI as usual like GMXT. Only those Custom POI like speed reminder don't have (yet). Text-to-Speech got. e.g "in 100m, turn left", "turn left, then turn right" Thanks but how about road names?

QUOTE(work_tgr @ Mar 5 2012, 08:00 PM) is reason la .. haha -- then i dont need la .. i thought can use GPS to detect police GPS can't detect police. What it does is alert you on possible speed trap spots BASED on historical data. QUOTE(XiuKeong @ Mar 6 2012, 02:39 AM) I think it will be weird hearing ang moh speaking our road name. Probably more confusing than distance Not really. It is safer than you squinting your eyes trying to look the tiny 4" screen for road names whilst driving.
