AFAIK, naming rights work on LEASING, or are they permanent?
I could understand the Yank's motives, its a very profitable lease for those who want to be part of a brand.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Nov 9 2009, 08:33 PM) Leasing, for our situation it's 10m per year. I think the Yanks should ask for more. I mean, after all, in America naming rights are wagered for really high prices.

After nearly 2 decades of the 'curse' of calrsberg (never won the league ever since we have them as sponsors heh heh), i'll be dissapointed if they get to name the stadium. tbh i rather not see the stadium disassociated from the team..... it just doesn't feel right. There must be other ways to secure the funding for the stadium. Heck with the track record of the owners they'll probably pocket the £250m pay off their own loans, and put the stadium cost onto the club so lfc will service it.....

But Carlsberg being so long with Liverpool, feels as though they're part of Liverpool. Heh. Watch a Liverpool game with a Carlsberg in hand. Next year, watch a Liverpool game, with a Standard Chartered Bank book

more news of our beloved owner... QUOTE Hicks: Liverpool will not sell key players Reuters - Yesterday, 14:20
Liverpool will not be forced to sell off key players if the club make an early exit from the Champions League, co-owner Tom Hicks said.
"None of our star players will be sold, regardless of results," the American told the Sunday Mirror newspaper. "The club is doing very well due to rapidly growing commercial revenues. "We have significant investor interest and want to make sure that we pick high-quality partners. "We are happy with the way things are going financially but we hoped things would be better on the pitch."
The five-times European champions are in danger of being eliminated from the group stage of the Champions League despite having players such as England's Steven Gerrard and Spain's Fernando Torres.
They have also lost five of their first 11 games in the Premier League and are seventh in the standings, nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea before Sunday's games.
Liverpool have been keen to raise fresh cash to help challenge for top honours and fund the construction of a new stadium, as well as finance debt estimated at 245 million pounds. SOS- www.fourfourtwo.com

carlsberg are too cheapskates to put 250m..
they have been taking advantages from liverpool for so many years. i believe around 7m a year.. very cheap for a big club standard.

and they're also the reason why I don't have our ORIginal jersey... only got unofficial shirts, and some self design Ts...(ok2 I dont have money actually..) But, the idea to change the shirt sponsor will obviously boost the merchandise sales... hoho. Plus Stand. Chart'd will remind our owner about their debt.

I couldn't care less who score.I just want 3 points for the team.I would take it even if it means Vignal scored 10 own goals for us or Reina scored a 70yards screamer like Robinson.
I will take it any day!
