iphone 4 obviously > ipod touch 4...

twice the price, expect better parts and performance on the iphone 4
iphone 4 hd recording > ipod touch 4
camera >
ram multitasking >
retina + ips >

you cant really compare both items, you get what you pay..
but ipod touch 4 is well worth the money, i dont regret getting it...
if you want quality hd recording/pics = get a dslr/hd camcorder

and i agree with Agito666, thats one of the main reason why i chose touch 4 instead of phone4, you play play with your iphone4, batt die = habis

iphone4 has 512mbram compared to itouch 256mb. in d future, wen gfx heavy games are released, ull see the lag.

i don't see it happening anytime soon, probably when 5th or 6th gen comes out...
developers can't afford to minimize their market to just iphone 4 when many of the users are still with 3g
but for now and and near future, all games will be supported by 4th gen, epic citadel works like a charm on ipod 4 without any lags too

it seems the ipod touch 4 is aint great as iphone 4 and even worse than the first iphone!

i have the ipod touch 4, and i can say that iphone 3 < ipod touch 4 < iphone 4

then again,my main criteria would be to have a camera, hd recording, video call (front cam), retina display, and the previous functions in the older gen. And ipod touch 4 fulfilled all of these (of course i was hoping for same ram and gps as the iphone, but you get what you pay)

i wasn't expecting high quality camera, i rather use a digital cam or dslr for that. This pod is perfect as an allrounder multipurpose device when i plan to go travelling.

hey guys, jus wondering if i wan2 go travelling in overseas, it's more convenient/ better to use ipod touch or iphone?
so that we could upload pics or update info/ blog to let our family or frens know...

an iphone without phone sim card could not online at all right? sorry for the noob questions  biggrin.gif

yes, unless you get those extra custom made skin which allows 3g sim to be used...

for me i chose ipod touch instead of iphone because i intend to use it as a netbook when i want to go travelling overseas. Its quite troublesome when you keep using your iphone and the battery dies, and if you're in trouble or need some help you cant use your phone.
Depending on where you travel, nowadays wifi is pretty common in cafes/complex/hotel/motel so it shouldn't be a big problem getting wifi (especially with starbucks breeding everywhere biggrin.gif )

If you just want to upload pics/vids to your blog then ipod touch would be good enough, don't expect to print out pictures hoping for quality wise... ipod is afterall 2x cheaper than iphone. For serious pics i would rather use a digi cam/dslr instead of any phone anyway...

and its also dam expensive using 3g data overseas, dont see a point in getting an iphone4 just for that. I know a couple of people who didn't turn their 3g off overseas, any the only data they used unintentionally were the mails sent to their inbox. One of them had a bill expense of rm4k+ and the other nearly rm1k biggrin.gif

well something like that, atm apple peel 520 doesn't have 3g connection, but u get to make calls and sms on it.
other skins like sprint u can use it for 3g but no calls/sms

spiderwick - too bad ur not gonna be there for 2 yrs, could get iphone 4 for free in a 2 yr contract!! just pay a min of aus$58 per month which includes calls/sms etc

4g has a faster processor, but same old 256ram
ability to video call and record hd
retina display = vry sharp and clear quality compared to 3g where u can notice the dull blur-ish pixels
a gyroscope for better gaming options

if u dont want all these then go for ipod 3g

and 4.1 is prob more stable than 4.0, but i'm sure there are a few minor issues, though batt life might be not as good as os3

jailbreak = warranty void

I'd say save money to get the 32g. Most high end games are at least 300mb+. And when u buy the 8g u'll only have 7g free space. Furthermore if you're gonna add songs, and maybe record some videos, 8g is not enough. Even my 16g iPhone isn't enough for me. The 32g iPod I used to have was just nice.
