i think philips is not bad as well. saw the display unit at viewnet and cant really see any difference from other 21 inch monitors.. jz smaller. crispness and clearness i cant really differentiate. mayb im a newbie.
Its also rather small to discern viewing angles issues of TN panels. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Michaelbyz23 @ Mar 1 2010, 08:35 PM)
hehe, btw, what do u mean by adjusting the clock and phase to avoid flickering on certain types of images?
i don really understand.. hehez.. newbie here  sad.gif

Check the LCD monitor test images which can be found at the start of this thread. wink.gif

1 more questions in my mind, should I use that price(around RM2500)to buy a LCD TV or for Dell U2711?Love the high resolution anyway.
Unless that LCD TV is full 1080p.. brows.gif

hi, I'm having dilemma to decide on which model:

1. Acer X233H - popular among forummer.
Its the cheapest 23" monitor around (and also with least power consumption as well for its size). Methinks its pretty hard to find this popular monitor anymore (possibly sold out since its no longer on most price lists). icon_idea.gif

QUOTE(kkhong @ Mar 2 2010, 01:59 AM)
all price are more or less the same. The monitor is used for movie purpose. I'm willing to top up rm50+ for other models not mention if recommended...
How much is your actual budget? hmm.gif

QUOTE(azrys @ Mar 2 2010, 03:19 AM)
Have anyone using Acer S243HL? I'm looking forward to buy it. But when I see some comment on newegg, I don't know whether it's good or not.

Check some reviews here, here and here. hmm.gif

Can I know the best LCD / LED below RM 800.00? Any suggestion? TQ.
Try the Dell ST2410. icon_rolleyes.gif

need some feedback here. thinking of getting another monitor as my secondary monitor. currently i have choices of a dell ultrasharp 2009W, and other 19-22" monitors like samsung, lg and benq. which one do you recommend me to go for? price wise i might be able to get the 22" cheaper than the dell ultrasharp.
Depends on how much you are willing to spend. If money is no objection, then get Dell UltraSharp™ 2209WA (RM759) which is an IPS panel. brows.gif

QUOTE(Everdying @ Mar 10 2010, 02:56 AM)
hmm due to space constraints, i have now reduced my choices to 2 LCDs.

1. Philips 191EL1, 18.5" wide, 1366x768, DVI input, RM389.
2. LG W2043s, 20" wide, 1600x900, RM400.

im assuming the Philips is a better choice? plus the difference isnt that big but with the LG's higher native res stuff would look smaller rite.
so getting the Philips is a better buy?
There's also...

- Acer X203H 20" widescreen with DVI (RM399)
- Acer P205H 20" widescreen with DVI (RM409)
- AOC F19 18.5 widescreen with DVI (RM364)
- Acer X193H 18.5" widescreen with DVI (RM378)
- Benq G922HDL LED 18.5" widescreen with DVI (RM389)

Try Acer G205H (around RM389 to RM395 depending on shop). nod.gif

Hey guys, are there any good LCD with full hd that are below RM1k? Planning to buy a new one this weekend.
QUOTE(Agent717 @ Apr 11 2010, 04:58 PM)
Hmm... I like widescreen so 21.5" or 23.5".
For that amount, lots of choices icon_idea.gif For 21.5", there's the Dell UltraSharp 2209WA (RM759) which is an IPS panel brows.gif , and for 23.5" there's Samsung XL2370 (RM1039) which garnered some good reviews. icon_rolleyes.gif

About LCD TV
Can i use LCD TV on PC?
Possible?
Yups, its possible depending on the brand and model itself. Should have at least VGA input. nod.gif

QUOTE(williamsamon @ Apr 12 2010, 11:40 AM)
What's requirement do i need?
What disadvantage using LCD TV on PC?
Just a PC with VGA and/or HDMI output. Again depends on the brand and model fo the LCD TV itself. Usually cheap 32" LCD TVs have low resolution (around 1366x768 only), while more expensive "1080p HD" ones (usually 37" and bigger) have higher resolution (ie. 1920x1080). hmm.gif

Ok. But performance wise, is the G2410 the best among the few?

"Dell G2410, 2209WA, HP 2309M, Acer H233H/ S243HL, and Samsung B2430H/ P2450H"
There's also the Dell ST2410, and if you have lots of fund then consider Dell Ultrasharp U2410. brows.gif

I'm wondering did any of u guys use a 32" Full HD LCD TV as a the primary monitor? i'm wondering will it degrade text quality? i can't get a chance to see the result myself. i understand watching movie and gaming shall work fantastic but what about text display and long hour staring at it? I'm planning myself an upgrade either to go for samsung 27" or samsung LCD TV 32" which will cost double... i know...
btw, 32" will be max for my setup and i won't go anything beyond that scale
If the LCD TV is full HD (1920x1080) then it would look very much like any (huge) computer LCD monitor. However if its the non-HD ones (1366x768) then the text looks rather large and blocky/pixelated (due to the pixel size). wink.gif

after some research and study, i will stick on 16:10 resolution, because i not always watch movies on computer, so i dont need the 16:9 resolution. Between AOC 2218VG and LG W2252T, both with 1680x1050 resolution and both price are similar around RM500~505.

So, i need to know, between these two, which is better?
Both are fine, just pick either one. Another choice would be Dell UltraSharp 2209WA (uses IPS panel). brows.gif

I'm trying to get a monitor around 20-24 inches for movie and gaming. Anything to recommend? State price as well?
If price is not an objection then I would suggest looking at Dell UltraSharp U2410.. icon_idea.gif

QUOTE(wira020 @ Apr 27 2010, 11:51 PM)
I would have gone for 1080p, more future proof... hehe... but i think most 1080p monitor are around rm600++... if price are similar, IMHO i would go for the LG monitor... strictly just brand preferences tho... Lg use same panel as Samsung i think...
The price of 1080p monitors starts from RM450 (e.g. BenQ G2220HD) or higher depending on size. As for the panels, you got it opposite. LG produces their own panels as well as Samsung. Ocassionally certain Samsung models will use panels from AUO, Chimei and LG instead. icon_rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the correction... i already forgot who made who's.. i think someone mentioned about it earlier in this thread...
Hard to tell the panels (as most LCD monitor manufacturers tend to use different panels for the same model), unless looking at the batch and examine the panel numbers internally. unsure.gif

QUOTE(wira020 @ Apr 28 2010, 06:07 PM)
BenQ monitor any good?.. I've done some research on them when i was choosing a new monitor a few month ago... i forgot what made me decide not to get them...
BenQ mostly use AUO and Chimei panels. Should be fine.. I'm using one anyway (already a few years old). wink.gif

QUOTE(wingster @ Apr 29 2010, 11:30 AM)
Guys need some help here ... my monitor has encounter something like dust (a dark spot) which is unable to remove ... is that something inside the monitor with dust or something? How can I clean it or I need to send for service? ... My model was BenQ G2220HD and just purchase during the CNY period T^T

Here's the spot:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
If it look square then its a dead pixel.. Anyway, does that "spot" disappear when you change to a different desktop screen resolution (try lowering the screen resolution)? hmm.gif

QUOTE(wingster @ Apr 29 2010, 09:53 PM)
...can send it for clean it? because I was unable to clean it even with microfibre cloth ... and anything ... looks like it was inside on the lcd ... T^T sob sob just few month got this issue already
You can try this method... Take a dried up ball point pen (make sure no more ink, the pen point must not be sharp one), and keep tapping on that "spot". icon_rolleyes.gif

any good LCD Monitor for photo editing budget around 500 - 600
21 - 22inch
You may want to increase the budget a bit more to around RM750 or more. Try looking at Dell UltraSharp 2209WA which is an IPS panel (not the normal TN panel). brows.gif

same resolution...
IPS panels (e.g. Dell UltraSharp 2209WA) beats TN panels anytime, when it comes to color accuracy and viewing angles. brows.gif
