Northern Ireland 0-1 Serbia QUOTE Manchester United defender Jonny Evans did not come out for the second half because of a calf injury.
His club colleague Nemanja Vidic also sat out the second half. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/i...als/8360701.stmThe injury curse on defenders again?

QUOTE(albirri @ Nov 15 2009, 09:14 AM) Wah...Jonny Evans really a rib breaker...Drogba can't play for Ivory Coast because of fractured rib... Serve him right, Evans clearly take the position and ball ady, and he still come trying to play dirty with his elephant physical presence. This is to show him that not all player will scare of him and chicken-out when approaching physical contact.

Wah so many injury we got ah? Cursed you international break. No top team in any league will love the break. Always come back with injuries. Well except for one team.

heard robin van persie injured and might be out for 3 or 4 months... International breaks are stupid especially when its for a friendly. Injured player + no EPL kicks for a week.

sry to say this but i really think foster should be dropped from Manchester United jersey. after the highlights of brazil and england, he practically did not made any saves on a shot. Not to mention his clearances, he got some delay in making saves. He need to squad like maybe 1 second before he make the jumps. he should probably work on reducing the ready position before jumps. Although to be fair to him, the goal he conceded and the yellow card he received was the defenders fault. But he really should have done better

I can say that Foster is the best English on the field that morning. Good saves. That guy have good reflect. Guys, he's just 20+. For a goalie 30 usually the peak form. That guy is just 26. Should be playing more games tho. 2nd was Lescott, and 3rd was Rooney, even though after half time he become more and more anonymous. Milner, okay. Others are Barry who? So overrated.

Paul Robinson WAS awesome. Top class. But God knows why he started to suck. Robert Green on the other hand can be said to be consistent, but in West Ham, his 4 defenders are teh suck. David James, same case with Robert Green. The reason why we all can say Ben Foster is the better keeper is because in Man Utd, he is given lesser chances to save because United's defence seriously restrict opposition from chances. And once they do, we can see Foster slack. This post has been edited by Sheep319: Nov 15 2009, 08:02 PM

And once they do, we can see Foster slack. yup. agree too. Paul robinson was awesome in previous seasons until last season he started to flop. the next england keeper that can emulate names above is joe Hart. he's very good. great reflex. loaning him to birmingham will sharpen his potential more. Last time ManCity got Kasper Schmeichel and he performed really well. too bad he chosed the wrong Manchester.

Vidic steps up comebackQUOTE Nemanja Vidic will be awarded another run-out for Serbia in midweek as he works his way back to full fitness.
The Manchester United centre-half has spent the past three weeks on the sidelines nursing a calf injury.
However, he came through 45 minutes of Serbia's 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland on Saturday unscathed.
He is now set to feature for his country again on Wednesday when Radomir Antic's men face South Korea.
United have given their blessing for Vidic to be used in that game, with Sir Alex Ferguson keen to welcome the 28-year-old back into the fold at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have made it clear that they do not expect their man to play the full 90 minutes, but Antic insists that is unlikely to happen.
"We arranged before the game (against Northern Ireland) Vidic would play one half," said the Serbia coach.
"He will also play on Wednesday. Everything is okay." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12010_5695918,00.htmlPhew, good to know it was arranged for Vida to play 45min only. Edit: Carrick was injured though QUOTE Capello's squad had already been decimated by the absence of David James, Glen Johnson, Rio Ferdinand, Ashley Cole, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, David Beckham, Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott and Emile Heskey.
But he was forced to further reorganise when skipper John Terry lost his battle to recover from an Achilles problem and midfielder Michael Carrick was ruled out with an ankle injury. It meant Gareth Barry and Rooney were the only first-choice players in the starting XI, in contrast to Brazil who were virtually at full strength. http://soccernet-assets.espn.go.com/report...e=FIFA.FRIENDLYThis post has been edited by alien2003: Nov 15 2009, 09:53 PM
