I'm getting to like Kuszczak... argh, very hard to spell his name: Kus-zcz-ak and it will be even harder for the opposition to score past him!

Agree, nice name some more. "Cool-Z" rclxms.gif

100th goal in Premier League... what a fitting gift for himself to celebrate his 36 birthday flex.gif
Giggs may be getting older but his legs is miraculously getting younger, defying all logics hmm.gif

Overall a good game from Man Utd and a great result, PIG is solid and got the penalty direction right, Rooney ended his goal drought with another hattrick biggrin.gif and we won it by playing 3 old mans on the pitch... 90 mins somemore sweat.gif

Really need the full match torrent for yesterday's match. Almost puke blood watching the stream that constantly on and off. Plus the penalty against us really doh.gif

All in all, good spirit shown in the second half and glad that Rooney found his touch in front of the goal again. Valencia the speedy gonzalez was awesome, so is Kuszcak with a few superb save

EDIT: How can I forget Giggs with his 100th and constant assist rclxms.gif

Yesterday's game had Valencia raped the left side of pompey lol. Blistering runs and such , man of the match for me. 8/10

ON the contrary, Fletcher did nothing but put in dangerous tackles on Kaboul. Come on la, sometimes things might not go our way but Fletch seems way out of his mind yesterday. 4/10.

Carrick didnt manage to contribute much I suppose, couldn't really see him in the match. 5/10.

Scholesy was good, but theres something lacking from him if you really look at him throughout the game. 6/10..

Giggs was.. sublime in the pass to Rooney, but still , considering every personnel that we had, the game wasn't all that good for me, even though we scored 4 goals . Lagi lagi Brown + Vidic @_@.

Gary was too slow la, and Evra was at his normal best. smile.gif.

Rooney needs to score more goals from open play, and SAF needs a partner for him. Berba/Owen..? Dunno. smile.gif

For the penalty portsmouth got from us, i thought usually such minor pulling will only lead to a retake in freekick?

That part has nothing to do with him being aggresive or not. It was just a slight tug from vidic on Piquionne. He even managed to jump high and get away from vidic.

i mean, u're a ref, u see Vidic who is famous for maybe a little dirty plays. Prejudice can affect the decision

Obviously, It was a referee mistake. It wasn't a tackle or a tough tugging which caused the player to trip. Just a real slight tug.

Btw, where can i see totally accumulated yellow cards for a player(Domestic/Europe) and ban served due to 5 yellow cards collected? smile.gif

win against mid & lower team is good but that not good enough.
still need to win against top team to secure the top place.
better to give hope from own team rather than hoping for other team faith
*
we won the title last term due to points acquired through wins over mid-table and bottom sides. To me that is the key to win the title because against the big four teams you've always have a slimmer chance to win. The league is won by points and at the end of the day 3 points is all that mattered whether we won it against top sides or bottom sides. Winning against title rivals is always satisfying but seeing your team kissing that trophy at season's end is even more satisfying.

The referee's mistake is relying on the linesman verdict that is 50 yards away from the incident.

Portsmouth-Man United Player Ratings

Player ratings for the game between Portsmouth and Manchester United at Fratton Park.

By Abhishek Mehrotra

Manchester United

QUOTE
Tomasz Kuszczak - 9

One of the best outing's of keeper's career. Snuffed out numerous threatening Portsmouth moves.

Nemanja Vidic - 4

Not the best of days for the big Serb. Looked uncertain throughout. Gave away a penalty, although can consider himself unlucky for that.

Wes Brown - 4

Vidic's partner in central defence was shaky as well. Brown just could not get on the same wavelength with Vidic.

Patrice Evra - 7

Caused massive headaches to the Pompey defence with mazy runs down the left. Solid in defence as well.

Gary Neville - 5

Not quite as fast as his mate at leftback, but did well enough to prevent the likes of O'Hara from causing too much damage.

Michael Carrick - 5.5  (off 76')

Things returned to normal after his exploits last week. A better team would have caused him problems.

Paul Scholes - 6

Picked up his usual yellow card, but looked very threatening in central midfield. Can consider himself unlucky not to have scored with one of his signature thunderbolts.

Darren Fletcher - 5.5

Another one who had a comparitively pedestrian game. Could not control the likes of Boateng and O'Hara as well as Fergie would have wanted.

Ryan Giggs - 9

Scored his 100th goal for United with a typically well-placed free kick. Won a penalty and assisted in another goal. He just refuses to go gently into that good night.

Antonio Valencia - 8

Had his best day in a Red jersey. It was his sublime pass to Rooney that won the Devils their first penalty. Constantly threatened down the right flank.

Wayne Rooney - 9.5

A near perfect outing for the England striker. A brilliant performance that deserved the hat-trick.

Substitutes

Anderson - 4.5

Came close to scoring on one ocassion but fluffed his lines, as usual.
