the HD4770 is good but that X4 no point la. you get 4 cores but drop in speed.
if you need to upgrade, aim for a higher clock speed X2 like those around RM 200 - 300 range.
edited : oh, new processors may not work that well. so you can get stuff like X2 5200+ used unit.

what games do you play?
going from 2ghz to 1.8ghz feels similar, in most cases it's a downgrade.

QUOTE(everling @ Nov 6 2009, 12:01 AM) I don't know if you can directly compare the old Athlon X2 with a Phenom X4 on a clock per clock basis. you can't. that's why i say it MIGHT be a downgrade because I'm not certain at the time of the post. also forgotten that they're of different architecture now the 2 concerns could be a) whether TS would feel the difference b) whether the mobo can support the X4 9150e (someone do a search on it? )

oh, if you got the 3600+ to 2.5ghz already then I suggest you just stick to it.
it's good enough at that speed and doesn't warrant you changing to others like X2 5200+ and or higher range processors. the difference would be minimal.
