Just curious - I am planning to join my friends for trip to HK in year end but I am not sure whether I want to stay in the mainland or HK island itself. If I want to see fireworks etc for year end celebration, would staying in Mongkok deters me from doing so?

Anyone stayed at Empire Causeway Bay hotel before? I am tied between this one or Wharney Guang Dong. Any recommendations?

Wondering out aloud - RM2920 for two person flight to HK (and return via AA) along with hotel accommodation (Wharney Guang Dong) for 5 days and 4 nights. Good or expensive?
