Hi guys, want to ask about accommodation. I have booked accommodation under Nathan hotel and Venetian Macao hotel but I just register 2 persons for the room. Actually I'm going with parent, iszit ok not to hotel know that I bring in 1 more guest? as the additional cost for 1 additional guest can costs about HKD 300 to 400 per night.

bit expensive but you can have a good night sleep .. no need to share ur bed

btw in hk, everytime i bought newspaper / magazine, they sure gv a packet tissue paper haha next time no need bring tissue paper also can smile.gif

The bed is king sized for both hotel and there is sofa sleeper in the hall. So especially I myself youngster doesn't need to sleep on bed...I can sleep on the sofa there..

Added on January 11, 2010, 6:06 pmAt the same time, I would like to ask if I reach HK about 8pm something...can I get half price for room rate for the 1st night?

Can I use HKD in Macao so that I don't need to change currency...

No, don't let hotel know you're sleeping more people than booked. But for me, I WILL NOT pay for extra bed, hahaha~~  biggrin.gif I use to do that in foreign countries especially Japan. So what you need to do is, ask one of your parents stand outside the hotel (if the hotel lobby is big enough, like Venetian, ask him/her to sit on the sofa at lobby), tell him/her to watch you check-in and when you finished checking in, follow you to take the elevator, that's it.  brows.gif In Venetian, there are TWO KING SIZED beds in the room, so it will be enough to sleep. The difference is only the breakfast if your price is included.

No, you will not get half price for late check in. Even you check in at 12am in midnight, the hotel will still charge the price of 1 whole night.

Yes, you can use HKD in Macau.

Bravo...I like your comment the most! rclxms.gif I remember but couldn't recall any forum member who did get cheaper ticket to Disneyland/Cotaijet something like that? May I know iszit the best I buy the ticket in HK rather than I purchase through online? Wondering is there any fluctuation in term of price?

Anyways, we are heading to HK on 4th Feb 2010 and is there any sales to do last minutes shopping before CNY??

I thought of buying prepaid SIMcard & Octopus when I reach there, any idea which telco & where can I get cheaper price at there?

i have not decide which hotel to stay yet...

pls help me to choose which best in term of :

near MTR / night market /restaurant...muslim restaurant nearby / got any free shuttle bus service??? i'm bringing my 2 small kids along :

1.Cityview
2.Dorsett Seaview - quite small room
3.Metropark hotel kowloon - not really near to MTR
4.West hotel - not that near MTR
5.Bridal TeaHouse
6.Nathan Hotel
7.Dragon hostel

considering the spacious room for 3 adults + 2 kids. based on the review looks like city hotel is convenient and nicer but dun know if it is near the shopping market or MTR...
*
I do really feel Nathan Hotel / Eaton Hotel not bad bcoz I stayed there for few nights as it's about 5 mins walk away from JORDAN station but problem is you're looking for Muslim restaurant nearby which I seriously do not know & didn't observe it as well. Perhaps I saw one mosque at HK island which you need to mid level escalator to go which is somemore where is between Wellington Street & Robinson Street.

What's Cityview address?

For free shuttle bus service in HK, I don't think they have and only Macao have but need not to worry as the public transportation in HK is really convenient.

Plan to visit HK this year end December.....
Lucky i found this thread.
thanks to TS and  other members that share their info here...
and the branded clothe there cheaper than malaysia ?
*
U could take the current currency conversion as M'sian ringgit gain against HK dollar for the past few months but I don't see it as any significant big amount when comparing the price of branded in between. The people in HK & China are spending for luxury like drinking water.....
