well..it depends what is ur target to HK, for me i love shopping in Mongkok, therefore i always choose Metropark Mongkok (http://www.metroparkhotelmongkok.com/eng/index.php)
it is very near MTR Station (Prince Edward Exit C2)..clean n good service..

tsim sha tsui is nearer to Temple street, avenue of star...

as long as u speaks canto..no prob..d signal got mandarin n english..
HK is a very friendly country for DIY travelling..
public transport are everywhere, just be more careful when u'r in mongkok and temple street during d nite..coz once a while they have their 'famous' kerosene attack... sweat.gif
