Hey guys,
I'll be staying at Novotel on Nathan Road in HK. Anyone has experiences in that hotel? Good/bad/scary? Please do share!
Also, can recommend places to eat/do and shop? I like pork, dim sum, bubble tea, and pretty much any good food! My friend told me to go to Macau for a few hours and watch "The House of Dancing Waters". Any comments on that?
Lastly, shopping wise, I don't care much about brands. I'm just looking for affordable and nice things (indie shops & such).
Thanks for your help! Much appreciated!

i second the above poster's view. house is dancing water is highly recommended, but grab your tickets fast.

Where can we get the Octopus Card refunded except HKIA? Cuz I'm departing to Macao for 2d1n before taking flight home from Macao Airport..... biggrin.gif

I guess I'll straight top up to 300HKD and see how it goes, Anyone can recommend me a prepaid simcard in HK?
*
If you are departing from the Macau-HK ferry terminal, you can claim the refund at the last MTR station, Sheung Wan.

Not Central, its Sheung Wan. You may return and obtain a refund for a normally functioning Octopus Card at any Customer Service Centre. More info here: http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/fares_tickets/ab...pus_return.html

Do not get the Macau Pass (similar to octopus card) if you are only travelling for a day or two. You you need to go to their HQ or counter to get refund for unused credits and deposit. So prepare lots of coins or just get cab. There will be free shuttle bus but not to some places.

Hi all, just another update for the Ngong Ping Cable Car. On 3Feb2012, they officially announced that cable car service is temporarily closed for about 2 months. Please take New Lantao Bus (http://www.newlantaobus.com/) as alternative transportation to Po Lin Monastery, Giant Buddha & Ngong Ping Village

What u guys think about this

Currently, i booked 4d 3n Macao + HK (Arrive Macau, Depart HK). Then only i notice didnt have enough time for Macau + HK. So only going HK.

So now with the current AA sale, i wan to buy another one way depart Macau making it 8d 7n total incurred fixed expenses add another rm1380 for 2 pax. (air tix, ferry and 4nites accomodation)

Worth it ah? so i can cover Macau and have more time for HK
*
what is your plan in macau? if just leisure and no target, just one day enough for express visit

the prob is 4d 3n macau + hk gonna be super rush..  I planned my HK and i didnt even have half a day to spare for Macau so totally scrapped Macau.

Earlier i booked 4d 3n (Sept 11 (what a day to fly lol) to 14th) then only i realised that 16 and 17 sept is public holiday. At first cant take so long off my work. Zzzzzzzzz

Basically, if got more days i can add Ocean Park, Stanley and Shatin as well. Then a full 2day 1night Macau food + site visiting.

looks like a good plan smile.gif
