home theater might give you the internal DD/DTS decoding via SPDIF coaxial or optical connection but a normal pc speakers requires you to have an external decoder that has multi-channel audio out.

@eugenetwh what is your budget? i can recommend AEGO M which is really good in terms of sound quality. because i'm using one right now, as for BASS i think level 2 is really enough for music listener, unless you prefer heavy bass that BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM your room.
Btw, AEGO T satellite seems to be OMG MORE powerful comparing to AEGO M satellite.
