hi guys, i am totally new in this area and i would like to set up a sound system for my room.. mainly at night for listening to soft music, preferably surrounding the whole room and put at the ceiling.. might need some drilling to hide the wires

budget around 2-3k

Edit ; will wireless be a better option? and will it affect the sound quality? (how to provide power to the speakers then?)

i'm open to all options including just having little speakers around my room. main thing is i need a fairly decent system to listen to music for relaxing/sleep

i have a sound card on my pc.. creative xfi fatality pro or something.. does it make a big difference.. but i really don't want to use a pc unless that's the last option

bookshelf speakers i will look up on it.. don't even know what it means.. does it come with everything to play the music or has to have an input like the big ass cd player/amp

i don't have any idea what's a studio monitor though =/

jus googled : i already have bookshelf speakers.. BMB ones.. in my living room.. i prefer something different

but in my opinion, edifier s530d sq's win T3, but T3 has good bass for most of the bass-head out there~
pretty curious about aego M on hows the satellite sounds~ still no chance to audit it

i think edifier s530d is ok for general usage~ , but if u want more bass, i think go for T3~
i tried razer mako once, it seems quite nice, the mids are clear, but i felt that T3 sounded more bassy than razer mako~ for aego m, still no chance to audit

Need some help guys, looking to get a new set of speakers after being served by my VS4121 for 6 years or so. Currently looking at a few choices around the 200 - 300 ish range.

Picked out the Altec Lansing VS4621, Edifier M3300SF, Edifier HCS2330 and Creative Gigaworks T20.

Would just like to know the best choice for my everyday gaming, music and sometimes movies + anime.

I need some feedback as I'll most probably be buying from fellow forummers here in LYN so testing is out of the question. I'm not very fussy when it comes to sound. As long as the sound quality is decent then I'm fine with it.

I'm currently leaning towards the T20 though...
