so benchmark i7 without turbo mode and with turbo mode hv any different ?

it will auto adjust itself, depends the application
if the application support multithreading up to 4, it will run on 4 cores,
else if only support 2, then run on 2 cores but higher clocks, or if the application didn't support, then it run on single core but much higher clocks.

generally if the application supports 4 cores, even though it has slower clocks, the result is faster, like those qx9000, qx9300, those only max at 2.53ghz, in video decoding, core 2 duo with higher clocks still lose.

i7 is quad core, right.
depending the application, it can shutdown 2 core or 3 core and overclock them.

actually i want lighter unit ^.^
If i change my laptop i probably to go light unit but must i7 and better GC ^.^

what i do recall is intel have this turbo mode setting, that can allow clock boost for it's mobile i7s, the 1.7ghz model can boost to 2.9ghz i think..

not to say not gaming friendly, but the HT and all..those sort are for extreme CPU stressing apps, or when u launch like 10-20 apps to run at the same time
